Don't those two accounts sort of conflict?
Different time frames reveal different things. The comments that Pistol made were in the heat of the drama. People are also spreading rumors and starting shit too so it's expected to see screenshots like this surface.
I don't actively look at hardware but whenever something came up I always found Tek Syndicate helpful. Shame its going down the toilet like this.
I want to put in a ≥2TB HDD in my ThinkPad, but I can only find Seagate HDDs. Where's WD? :(
Another ST3000DM001 I deemed as good before, looks to be true. Has like 15 reallocated sectors but a full surface write seems good. [editline]30th August 2016[/editline] ok, weird. I thought it had reallocated sectors, but I checked the smart and it shows none. It also now shows no pending sectors. Maybe I was mistaken or the drive... fixed something. But you can't un..reallocate sectors?
Is it possible to use computer vision and search algorithms to give an imagine more detail? Eg works out what's supposed to be there and finds matching higher res imagines that would fit in place.
What's the next thread name? Post your RAMDisks?
I'm slowly becoming a data hoarder... I think I'm ok with this.
What's the next thread name? Post your RAMDisks?
CIPWTTKT&GC v0x2B: I understood some words
CIPWTTKT&GC v0x2B: Tek Syndicate sinking ship edition.
Anyone know of some wipe software that allows for hot pluging? I have to go though hundreds of drives every few months, then disassembling them & breaking platters etc. I really could do with something that lets me just wack a few drives in and carry on with other bits as its really starting to consume a lot of time just plugging and unplugging drives all the time. :hairpull:

Google reverse image search sort of works on these principles.
You know how I was trying to save $60 on my FreeNAS build by not buying ECC RAM? Turns out the motherboard I bought is very picky about non-ECC RAM and wasn't booting with the RAM I bought or some other random DDR3. I grabbed a stick of ECC DDR3 out of my VM server and it booted just fine.
Pretty. Gotta get Unity up and running soon though.
Samba is also for local file sharing in a primarily Windows network. Perhaps it's something in the vein of this you're looking for? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distributed_file_system Although I guess the best alternative is NFS over SSH
Thanks, sorry for not thanking sooner, i'm starting to work into this right right now. Seems like what i want is a NFS rather than a DFS. i've read reports NFS over SSH is not safe due to lack of encryption, would the best way to do this be SSHFS then?

Buuut I'm a bit green in this myself so it's all AFAIK.
The ST3000DM001 with 3 years of spintime turned up completely clean with like a 12hour surface write. Pretty good.
I've always had a thing for small factor computers, so I decided to splurg $400 on an Intel Compute Stick [t]http://i.imgur.com/zeVTI9k.jpg[/t] This thing comes with Windows 10 preloaded, and I was watching HD Netflix while browsing several tabs at once on a 4k monitor. The stick can handle all that concurrently without any hiccups at all. It's amazing how much computing power is packed into a stick that fits into your hands. All that performance and the stick only needs about 10W to operate on max load. It's amazing how far technology has come
We attached one of these to our 4K TV in the conference room where I work, works great for 4K playback.
CIPWTTKT&GC V0x2A v41 - N9 is a dead meme just stop
Before this thread closes I want to remind everyone that the N9 is king
I wanted to know if this is true so I asked google to define nokia n9 for me: [t]http://i.imgur.com/MARBsau.png[/t] oh
Before this thread closes I want to remind everyone that the N9 is king
ok even I'm getting a bit tired of this... meme
It's not even a meme. It's just stupidity. Memes at least have some underlying contextual depth.
Before this thread closes I want to remind everyone that the N9 is king
how's a dead ecosystem doing for you
Before this thread closes I want to remind everyone that the N9 is king
Tunnel snakes rule!
