It seems like every large file hosting service is only good at one particular thing each, and none of them can manage to get everything right
Google Drive has nice group collab stuff with live editing with many people at the same time, on the same document. That's pretty awesome and it's why I still use Google Drive. It's just that it could have been better with the alternative ways you can access your files. I don't want several TB of files to live on my computer, I uploaded them on Google Drive to back them up. If uploading and downloading stuff is a pain in the ass, then it's just a pain in the ass. There's probably some really good tools for Google Drive, for what I want to do somewhere. I just gotta find it..
There has to be a better way to connect directly to Google Drive but without the annoying shit.
CyberDuck seems to stop uploading at 4GB transfered. I don't know if this is a limitation on CyberDuck or Google Drive being dumb.
ExpanDrive likes to disconnect from Google Drive. Once again, don't know if it is ExpanDrive or Google Drive's fault.
Uploading stuff to Google Drive via Google Chrome/web browser tab seems to work fine.
Downloading stuff is annoying when you have multiple files as there is a 2GB file size limit for the zip download which is annoying as shit.
So is Google Drive looking like a good solution for what I want to do with it? Not sure. If I can't reliably upload and download stuff from Google Drive, especially if it involves hundreds of GB of footage (also about to upload a 3TB project onto it with plenty of 4K RAW footage), then why the hell am I using Google Drive and is there a better solution? I'm currently on a Google Apps for Work account and it costs $10 a month.
And no I don't want to use the official Google Drive for desktop app because I don't want to sync everything on it, or even specific folders. I just want the ability to easily upload and download stuff without the hassle I'm running into.
The Google Drive desktop app doesn't even officially support multiple accounts so that's also annoying.
Amazon Cloud Drive is $60 CAD a year for unlimited storage, maybe look into that? Seen someone with it connected as a network drive with like 8 TiB of stuff.
Amazon Cloud Drive is $60 CAD a year for unlimited storage, maybe look into that? Seen someone with it connected as a network drive with like 8 TiB of stuff.
Mhmm, I'll look into that. It's just that we already have Google Apps for Work set up and paid for, and it will be hard to justify getting Amazon Cloud Drive when we already have Google Drive.
Also I tried to find out why CyberDuck was failing at Google Drive uploading. I wanted to open a ticket but...
I can't even make an account to open a support ticket and there is no email address to email to..
Although it looks like Google Drive support came back in a recent version so it might still be buggy. Without any other decent way to communicate, I decided to comment on their blog page on the Google Drive support in hopes that they will see it.

I like how in the terms of use, it says

Thanks youtube for slowmotion settings.
Really stupid on his behalf, but also a shitty product if it snaps like that at full length. Makes me think they probably overloaded it.
If you lot didn't see my farcry 80c thread, I'ma post the image here.
Today I was putting my PC into my new case with a new cooler cause my Seidon wasn't cooling my CPU properly, getting 60-80c in some games.
Been like that for 2 years.
I decided to clean the cooler and I wiped off the Thermal Paste, and I see this.

Two years and that has been on there, no one believed me when I said my cooler wasn't right, and there was a problem with it.
I WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG.
So you are blaming others for your ineptitude?
So you are blaming others for your ineptitude?
I think it might be a little bit of sarcasm :v:
In the thread he initially made regarding that, seems like "PC builders" had installed that cooler and didn't take the plastic off.
Not surprising, and why it's always better to learn how to put your stuff together yourself from the start rather than trust self-appointed "professionals."
So you are blaming others for your ineptitude?
I didn't put the Computer together, computer store did it for me.
Heh, well that's to be expected. They'd probably do it on purpose just knowing some sucker won't figure it out for 2 years, ripping his hair out. At least that's what underpayed people I know do.

According to the comments, the operator is known to be reckless on set. But yeah it was probably overloaded and/or a shitty product to begin with. Apparently it's a Mexican stabilizer company, which probably has everything made in China anyways.

I've been having this problem with my computer for quite a while now and I have no idea where to ask this. Basically whenever I run video games I keep getting in-game models and textures failing or taking a long time to load. It's more notable with high-demanding games that uses more memory (e.g. GTAV, FO4, even Overwatch). It's getting worse over time and I'm suspecting it's a hardware problem but I have no way to pinpoint the issue beside swapping out everything. Some of my guesses are HDD speed or CPU bottleneck issue but I hope it wouldn't be the GPU since it's fairly new.

I'm really running out of option here so I hope this isn't the wrong thread and I won't come off as dumb. Anyone would be able to offer advice for this situation?
Lack of SSD but I've had 0 issues with having GTAV on my HDD.
Got any other games that do this?
Also could be down to that GTAV is a torture test.
It also happens to other games but they're less notable, icons failing to load in DS3, textures loading at low quality in FO4, models not loading in Overwatch (which isn't very demanding)
I'll look into defragging, I've tried it but only the default Windows one

Seeing the amount of QUALITY posts he's making lately, I'm willing to bet 3 months.
One month to make a post terrible enough to earn him a 1 month ban; 1 month to wait out that ban; 1 final month to reach maximum edge and ends up cutting himself
Here's why you don't outsource to India.
I just fixed a bug. This bug was introduced after one of our outsourced folks checked in a small feature.
Now, sure, you don't write code that's perfect all the time. I've gone back and fixed bugs that are my own fault before.
But here's the kicker; this bug would have been found and resolved quite easily if - and my blood is goddamn boiling about this - if the son of a bitch ran his code at least fucking once. It was one of those bugs. He literally did not test his own code before committing it to source!
So yeah, keep your dev jobs on shore, please.
I saw some A++ grade shitposting in an SH thread, but I didn't recognize the poster because I didn't read the username as I was reading through, I just saw the banned avatar.
Then I read the username.
