Titan X is not as amazing and valuable anymore since 1080 was announced

Of course not, but 450€ is still insane.
Pentium why'd you have to get yourself banned in my Twinkie thread of all places

I think he really likes Twinkies.
Gonna laugh when he develops a peanut allergy in like a year.
Welp, I just bought a 55" LG 4K TV

Woah, WiDi is cool as fuck. I can wirelessly extend my desktop, albeit with latency. Sound, too!

He has a thing for Twinkies. Don't tell him I told you guys.
year 12 it mid-year exams
fuck this shit

the correct answer is B, i picked D. makes no fuckin sense, and i'm stupid now because of it
reasoning is this:

even though you lose fucking data turning it off on it's own and its MORE inconvenient to turn it back on
fuck
Yeah wut
Screens don't burn in like they used to, screensavers are 100% wasted power. If you left it long enough for it to come on you won't be looking at it anyway.
I would argue with the prof at this point
also there's this. because i'm kinda doubtful of whether i'm dumb or it's written poorly, what order would you put this in?

i did nas, ssd then hdd, then nas for question B because higher storage density/saves power
I guess. Maybe I'm overthinking this but they just aren't giving enough information.
[editline]7th June 2016[/editline]
I mean if you're looking at 10 users with 1tb of data each, 10 1tb SSD's will probably use less than 10tb worth of 10k rpm drives. That's like asking "which costs more: 10 bananas, 10 oranges, or vegetables?"

but nas is still first yeah? because this is the correct answer

it's fucking ambiguous af
[editline]8th June 2016[/editline]
like i might be a dumb cunt for getting some of this shit wrong, i'm just annoyed as fuck because i'm apparently even dumber for this exam's bad writing
What?? It just contradicted itself.
exactly. fuck you VCAA fuckin 'ell, i hope i don't deal with this and end-year exams (mid-years aren't as important, this is the 2014 exam they used for mid-years, but i'm more angry about the implications this fucking has)
Also the logistics of actually replacing all their hard drives with a NAS is impossible.

This reminds me of when we were getting attacked at my old job and I followed my bosses instruction to block a whole /8 and decided not to question it. Boy was he confused when all our AT&T customers called in saying they could no longer access their boxes.

Probably doesn't add up to a /8, but one day I just went fuck it and blackholed all of China Telecom on our webservers.
...or Unicom, I can never tell those apart.

I just realised from finding this picture on Reddit that Sun Microsystems logo is actually a bunch of U's that spells Sun.
Looking at the logo how at its original angle, I never saw that. I thought it was a bunch of scribbles. That's neato.
The fact that the Sun logo can be read from pretty much any angle made me not realize that the servers were straight up knocked over for like a solid minute.
Gonna laugh when he develops a peanut allergy in like a year.
I'm pretty sure they only develop in like, early childhood stages. I have never heard of a case of someone developing an allergy to anything beyond the age of like, six. That said, I'm no allergologist, and I haven't looked into the idea too seriously. I could be right, or I could be atop Mt. Stupid.
Looking for IT jobs on the internet and I swear "Full drivers licence required" is becoming the bane of my fucking life.
Rule #1: Job offers are a wishlist. You don't have to fulfill everything. Apply anyway.
Rule #2: Apply anyway.
Rule #3: DO YOU WANT THE JOB? IF SO, APPLY ANYWAY.
Still, get a drivers license.
I wasted an entire night just to find out that if you set an ATA password on a drive and you don't have that password, the drive is as good as dead.
What a shame.
Slightly disappointing thing about my new TV is that due to not being able to play back VP9, the YouTube app is limited to 1080...

you can use MHDD to dump the hex data and grab the password from that

I have a Seagate drive. That specific code is for Western Digital drives.
http://www.hddunlock.com/
this program sometimes works too, but leaves you with no recoverable data. it's a full factory reset. I would suggest removing any other drives and running it in bartpe for this reason
Unfortunately I have a Seagate Momentus FDE.1 which isn't supported.
[editline]8th June 2016[/editline]
I have tried SO many things but either it's not supported, costs some cash, or would require me to scroll through a LOT of hex data looking for something that looks sorta like a password
