how do powerline adapters work
like if there's any technology that I would suspect of working off voodoo magic it'd be that
They impose a high-frequency signal onto the mains line, and filter the 50/60Hz mains out, to extract the signal.
It's kinda like WiFi over copper, really. Shared broadcast medium, with lots of other noise that needs to be filtered out.
Yeah its like using 2.4
How well does powerline ethernet work between rooms? I'm moving to a different apartment soon and really want to get an Nvidia Shield for the TV and hook it up by using powerline adapters so I can stream PC games to the TV and couch game all gloriously.

More contributions on github gives you green squares on a graph at your profile
Take a look at https://github.com/johndrinkwater

this is just microsoft's scummy way of trying to get more information from you
So the local makerspace has run into a leech.
It's only the ninth and already they've received two copyright notices and a bandwidth cap warning. Either someone is running the laser cutter machine as a seedbox or someone's coming in daily to do all their downloading.
Surely they have the means and knowledge to log bandwidth by IP?

That obviously has taken a while to make..

We do have someone awesome in charge of the network. So much that no computer that plugs into the network can connect to Microsoft and even attempt to upgrade to windows 10. It's basically all blacklisted.
The best we can do is email him and because he set the router and firewall not to accept login requests from the internet we gotta wait for him to get back and sort out the magic that is the network he setup.

that bus factor seems high
The network isn't completely setup yet so I think he's locking everyone else out so that settings aren't fucked with while we're still adding new connections. I'm not a paying member to the makerspace so I don't ask questions.

I think GitHub looks at commit dates rather than push dates for that, so you can totally just fake it.
The picture above looks pretty... organic though.

I wonder which project that graph was actually for..

I thought it was the showerhead forking or branching out or something.
Bought some Kanto YU5s and while the website said shipped, I didn't see a tracking number. Contacted support annnnnd:

Bummer, I'll probably have to wait another month.
Good ol' assdrop.
I still love that www.assdrop.com redirects to massdrop.
Holy shit. Never realized the power these RC batteries can supply.
This one https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00V7UMO06/
11.1 volts @ 120 amps continuous. That's 1,332 watts! Fucking 1.3kw from this little 30$ USD battery. I'm sure there are plenty better ones than that. I just came across this one and thought it was cool.
to be fair it's "30c"
you'll get a decent amount of voltage sag trying to get that much amperage through and the deans connector couldn't handle it for too long even if you did

turnigy nano-techs and higher C racing batteries like glaciers are just magical though

I don't know if I'd trust a Chinese battery to not explode at 1.3 kw.

the worst it'd really do is puff up and most likely it'd just under-deliver on current, I've run $20 20C batteries in my big quad drawing about 1.5kw all the time and all that happens is that it bogs a little and voltage sags about a volt (comes back up after going easy on the throttle)
I have a 10,000 mAh 11.1v 30C battery for my RC car.
RC car is way too fucking fast for me to handle. Can theoretically reach ~110 km/h, but there's no stretch of land here big enough for me to find out.
Modern RC cars are scary fast.

Older ones were no slouch. My dad used to race battery RC cars as a hobby in the early 90's and they'd do 50mph, too. RC cars are just baller.
RC vehicle insurance is a thing for a reason. Once you hit someone with these things at full speed you better hope they don't sue.
Yeah I'm careful not to drive the thing anywhere near people.
Don't wanna shatter any legs.
I was pretty glad mine is "waterproof", because I did drive it into a little waterfall reservoir once. I don't even wanna know what the gearbox looks like by now, having driven through sand, snow and just about everything else. Also bent a tire rod before. I even have the replacement on my desk, but I never bothered putting them on after I just bent it back.

Traxxas by any chance?
Mine is also completely waterproof.
Heck, there's videos on YouTube of people driving the thing on the bottom of a pool :v:
