Guys, anybody has good advice for how to buy 18650 cells on ebay? I got my mom's old laptop but a few cells seem to be bad, I'd change them but 18650 is so common now that you can't ever know if you get a proper one or not.
It can be a major pain to solder leads to the cells. I've had little luck. They are intended to be spot welded to the connectors. As for buying them. Make sure to look up their part number. Some cells are rated to discharge in the 100s of mA compared to 1000s of mA. Such as those for flashlights. Also never buy any cells with the word "FIRE" in it. There's a lot of cells with weird brand names, often advertising large capacities such as 4000 mAh. Theyre lying and the cells are often of poor quality. Samsung, LG, etc. make good cells. Watch for counterfeits. Also remember ebay almost always rules in favor of the buyer, even if they're wrong, so you should definitely always go through ebay support if the seller won't refund you for bad cells.
I never really got into BF4 proper even though I've owned it for ages. think I was level 13 when I started just now? [t]http://pred.me/pics/chrome_2016-06-15_20-55-59.png[/t] [t]https://pred.me/pics/chrome_2016-06-15_20-56-20.png[/t] I had 13 hours of playtime and I had only gotten to level 13? 5 days later and I'm level 64
Just how much bf4 did you play within the last 5 days?
Have you slept at all?
PS refill your nutrient pouch, can't have the IV going dry during a match
I hope you didn't go with the cheapest LCD you could find because you're gonna have a bad time. Good thing it was insured because the item alone was worth $2800. Shipping was another $300.

I get that UPS has to stack packages sometimes but putting that much on it is stupid. Hope whoever decided to load up that box at least got a good talking to.
Jesus Christ. That's ridiculous. I get that UPS has to stack packages sometimes but putting that much on it is stupid. Hope whoever decided to load up that box at least got a good talking to.
That feeling is oddly mutual.
I remember seeing somewhere that some shipping companies' employees just really do not give a shit and in fact will intentionally handle your package roughly if it has "FRAGILE" or such an equivalent written on it anywhere. But I don't remember where I read this so take it with a grain of salt.
E: wrong thread brawz Handling cargo isn't exactly a high paying job. It rarely attracts people who care about your stuff.
If they did that they wouldn't be doing that for very long. General negligence sure.
Never underestimate a warehouse employees ability to not give a shit
I don't know why but for whatever reason YouTube is only loading at 2Mbps on one Chrome profile, but when I switch to the other Chrome profile, it works fine. Speedtesting my Internet seems to indicate that it's normal. Time to clear cookies I guess..

Finally broke the tension and got a GTX1080 ordered in at work. I was told by MemEx that the specific one I was wanting had a month and a half wait on it, checked Synnex at work and they got the same card with ETA of two weeks. Oh boy I can't wait for some sick 1440p 120fps gameplay.
So my friend is looking at getting a new monitor but he is stuck between 4K or an ultrawide. Any suggestion on something that is 27"+ and IPS

Will it even be hot enough or will it just take forever vs a heatgun?
hair dryer works fine

It came to $10 less than MemEx and NCIX, and I'm getting the card a whole month earlier. I'm cool with this.
Aaah, nothing like NTFS and small files. All of my hate.
How much of a good or terrible idea would it be to get one of these old gen servers for video editing and rendering? http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-ProLiant-DL380-G7-2x-Xeon-E5620-QC-2-4Ghz-24GB-P410i-512MB-8SFF-2xPSU-Server-/281879800716?hash=item41a1586b8c:g:gEgAAOSwboVXOmdW&campid=5336983630&customid=2028510155
I feel I recently have some experience. After Effects... Maybe, anything else. No. Servers would be good if you had lots of videos to encode, vs one video much faster. Otherwise go for a single 6-8 core which higher clock speeds. Like a used E5-2667 v3 or something.

[t]http://i.imgur.com/RRYPds5.jpg[/t] Six bucks! The clerks figured the thing would have to be activated 'cause it has a phone carrier logo on it, it doesn't. Only problem is the touchscreen is very unresponsive and it's got some burn-in from sitting in a box with the same logo and instructions for five years. Besides that it's beautiful, and I didn't know just how good these screens looked. It's really something you've gotta see in person to be convinced. Are there any guides on how to troubleshoot digitizers? I'm thinking it's a flex issue or something to do with the way the flex connects to the digitizer, but everything on google is just "buy a new one lmao"
A steal! [t]http://52.62.164.10/image/2016061611104586.png[/t]
It's $200 for me :v:

I'm find it challenging to find non-ES xeon chips on ebay. Wanting to find used chips from decommissioned servers, but they're all Engineering Samples. [editline]16th June 2016[/editline] I might bid on this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-Core-i7-5960X-Extreme-Edition-Eight-Core-3GHz-LGA2011-V3-Desktop-Processor-/162104472449?hash=item25be2df381:g:jFIAAOSwzJ5XYLPT Make it a birthday present for myself. Finding a legal used Xeon is a pain with it actually being cheap enough to make it worth it to not have overclocking. If I could get a 5960x/Mobo/Ram for under 1k, it would be a huge upgrade for me.
