I always prefer to simply nuke the disk and start over. IMO, it's the option that gives the least amount of headaches down the line. Also a 100% Guarantee that your installation is completely fresh with no possibility of broken leftovers.
I backup my SSD (~60gb or so for a typical install I've been using for a while) to my spinning disk, reformat and install windows, then recover shit I need (program settings, AppData shit, etc) from the backup as I find the need for them

I'm finding it difficult to not run out of room on my 120GB SSD!
I want to move C:/Users/Ruben/AppData/Local and Roaming to my E: drive. When going to the folder properties for the two folders, it shows a Location tab, where I can move both folders. When I try to move them, I get an "Access Denied" popup without any other message. Anyone got a clue how I can fix that? AppData uses 36GB of my 120GB SSD, combine that with the hiberfil.sys file and some programs, and boom SSD is full.
Anyone know the specifics of the recent ubiquiti exploit?
Damn.. I'm finding it difficult to not run out of room on my 120GB SSD!
I don't keep much on it because it's only 120gb, it's basically just 7, random small programs, and the CS6 suite My spinning disk has everything else, my Steam folder alone is 925gb

She asked why anyone would need that much. I told her my desktop has damn near 5TB in it and probably a good 70% of that is filled with either music, games or other shit. Most of the empty space is my SSDs because I keep them about 70% full tops.
Don't forget to take a shovel for the piles of indie shit that is "in development". Well maybe a shovel is not enough.
Even the good ones I don't already own are only like 20% off and cost $15+, which I'm barely willing to pay for a completed AAA game Maybe I'm cheap but I might consider buying some of them if they were only like $5
steamsales.jpg
I'll just wait a few years until everything I want is $1 each and no one wants to play them with me :(
[t]http://horobox.co.uk/u/reag/WP_20160622_001.jpg[/t] MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM NICE. And people ask me why I dislike this pile of trash OS, its because of shit like this. A chkdsk did that, a fucking chkdsk.
You mean a bad sector on the drive did that.

holy shit what [editline]23rd June 2016[/editline] that PC costs as much as I make in a year
So last night I was shitting myself because my Amazon EC2 billing alarm went off saying I had $30 of charges (instead of $0 like it should be). Then this morning I get an email saying they had a fuck up on the free tier and it's not actually meant to be there. Immediately killed all instances when I got the alarm because Amazon is expensive as fuck compared to other VM services outside of free tier, going be a pain in the dick to get everything back up again.
See? He planned on keeping 30 million chrome tabs open to fill all 1024 GB of RAM. I guess he wanted to visit every website ever from 2005
Maybe he's modding skyrim and wants 5000 nexusmod tabs.
You mean a bad sector on the drive did that.
Stupid thing is, it didn't even find any.

so pollytheparrot and i were discussing media players and realized that vlc is to mpc as taylor swift is to lady gaga "technically very good but wrapped in a shell of weirdness" or "decent but with an attractive coat of paint"
Anyone know the specifics of the recent ubiquiti exploit?
deets on this would be nice too, I run 3 ubiquiti items in my network
Anyone know the specifics of the recent ubiquiti exploit?
looks like just update to 5.6.5 and you're good to go
1.The worm attempts to connect to a router though either the HTTP or HTTPS protocol. It uses an exploit for a known firmware vulnerability affecting login.cgi to upload files to arbitrary locations on the router. 2.By exploiting this vulnerability, the worm can remotely copy itself to the router and create a back door account with the user name “mother” and the password “f u c k e r”. 3.The threat adds iptables rules to block administrators from accessing the device through a web interface over HTTP/HTTPS. 4.The worm copies itself to rc.poststart so that it remains on the router every time it restarts. 5.The threat downloads a precompiled version of cURL to carry out its attack. cURL is a legitimate, open-source command line tool and library that allows users to transfer data using various network protocols, such as HTTP and HTTPS. 6.After this activity, the worm begins to spread to other routers. It takes the IP address of the router it has already infected and uses this as the basis to generate new IP addresses. If the worm finds devices on these IP addresses, it uses the same arbitrary file-writing exploit to compromise them too. 7.Once it arrives on other routers, the worm repeats the previous steps on the newly infected devices.
http://www.symantec.com/connect/blogs/thousands-ubiquiti-airos-routers-hit-worm-attacks (reporter of original vuln. got 18k for bounty, not bad)
Also I never really posted pics of my rack. Still planning on adding an R710 at some point as a VM server. Apology for shitty cellphone pics [t]http://i.imgur.com/jaHyMvC.jpg[/t] In the dark, pretty blinking lights [t]http://i.imgur.com/7rLocRt.jpg[/t] In the light. man i'd like to replace everything i've got with rack mounted shit oh and a new modem that isn't trash, get that squared away
I'd love to rackmount all my network stuff, even though it basically consists of a modem, Edgerouter and a tiny switch I want to build a tiny little rack and make adapters for everything :v: [editline]24th June 2016[/editline] mount my cubieboard in there too, I can build a server shoebox

We lost control of almost 100 ubiquiti devices at work and were going to try to use the exploit to gain back control. Luckily the guy just modified the base exploit username and password to moth3r and fucker so we could get in, RM -rf persistence clean, and update.
You want to talk about internet? Using a WRT54GS in my house, 2.4MB/s download speeds nobody wonders why iPads shit themselves in Netflix whenever I use Steam

It's only 802.11n. They apparently have all sorts of problems (and God forbid more than 2 devices are connected) and I feel guilty so I'll be replacing that with something a bit more serious here in the near future.
Belkin, the company that bricked a large number of their routers with an update that shouldn't have existed in the first place. They put a heartbeat into the routers to contact their servers. If it couldn't hit the servers, the router cut all connectivity for WAN networking. The update was bad and couldn't even contact their servers in the first place, so they just pushed the update out and all their routers died.
