I still don't have any clue, how pentium manages to get this much bannage, without being perma'd.
What's he done this time? It's a shame really because his posts about his old equipment are interesting.
Art Cow decided to do a coupon for 300 free 4x6" prints and 150 free 5x7" prints (12450 square inches ?), really considering just blowing the lot in one go and making a fucking huge poster out of them. Even just the 4x6 ones lets me make a 1.72m x 2.44m poster. It's China so I doubt even shipping is going to hurt on 450 prints. It's also a bonus jigsaw puzzle, double the value. I can't see any downsides apart from splitting up the source image into 450 bits but I'm sure there's a GIMP plugin for that and if not it will be a fun challenge.
This Optiplex 980 has the motherboard on the other side which is a bit weird, wonder what Dell were thinking. Brand name PCs seem to have a few odd quirks. But over all this thing was better value than building a PC from the cheapest parts as it includes a Windows 7 pro COA.
so random thing. My flag dog doesnt show up on my computer but on my phone it does.
Doesn't work with IPv6, but I'm using IPv4 and it doesn't show up for me. How will people know I'm American?
Its BTX format, a failed experiment to make a better motherboard basically.
Shame really because BTX was actually quite a good alternative that solved a good few problems, it just wasn't popular and those problems got solved with ATX over time.
To be fair the Xbox controller has 2x USB ports so technically it bought a VMU-esque philosophy and you could even attach a VMU with a converter :v Also the final revision isn't actually sane either
Back in the day. When I softmodded my Xbox, I took the quick disconnect and put a male USB connector on it. So I could transfer the exploit to my memory stick. I could also use the controller to control my PC and play games. It was awesome. Also, Harris doesnt like Facepunch. The wifi blocks the site based on content. Doesn't matter, im just gonna throw a VPN server on my Pi.
I can't be the only one who originally thought that there would be severe bottlenecks with this USB 3.0 docks (commonly used for laptops) and that Thunderbolt 2/3 docks are the ones to go for (too bad Thunderbolt 2 docks aren't really used on Windows because of how you can BSOD by plugging it in/out when the computer is on). I read that the max bandwidth was 5Gbps which equals to 640MB/s and I felt so stupid to originally think that USB 3 only goes up to 100MB/s since that's what all of my hard drives and memory cards were transferring at. So yeah, no longer really need Thunderbolt 3 in a computer and for a dock, unless I want a lot more bandwidth (40Gbps vs. 5Gbps), running like 2 4K displays and/or just for "future-proofing". Whoops.
Hey BRT, you know you said your server wasn't using all cores to encode videos? handbrake on ubuntu is using all 16 cores on mine to crush down blu rays, give that a try and see what happens.
Hey thanks mates for helping me decide on what I should do for school. After deciding that I wanted to do Network+, Security+, and MCSA; I actually found a school a lot cheaper then what I was at first looking for that covers those plus more, and I easily tested myself in. I hope that this is the right choice.
Time to hope a flatout nuke will fix my issues, whole OS is unstable as hell again and it keep "losing" its drivers, I knew upgrading from 7 to 10 would be a bad idea. Luckily I have space to throw shit I want keeping onto other drives, made me realise just how much dumb shit I keep that I don't need.
Shame really because BTX was actually quite a good alternative that solved a good few problems, it just wasn't popular and those problems got solved with ATX over time.
I want upside down Mobo's to be more common. I want to see the top of the video card more. [editline]27th June 2016[/editline]
Pepper;50606342']Hey BRT, you know you said your server wasn't using all cores to encode videos? handbrake on ubuntu is using all 16 cores on mine to crush down blu rays, give that a try and see what happens.
I gave Handbrake a try, same results as ffmpeg. But even still, even if handbrake DID use all my cores, that doesn't help me. The software I use to stream leverages ffmpeg and x264. If those two backends don't run well on it, then it doesn't matter what other software does. Since that isn't my usecase. I rarely have more than 2 videos at a time to encode, so I need fewer faster cores. I'll prob make my 3770k the stream PC and put it in a passive box. But the Mobo might be failing so not sure on the practicality.
I want upside down Mobo's to be more common. I want to see the top of the video card more.
Honestly, flipping the board so stuff vents upwards is so much more ideal than what we've currently got with standard ATX.

I remember when I wanted to go to ITT tech. I also watched Pokemon.
Honestly, flipping the board so stuff vents upwards is so much more ideal than what we've currently got with standard ATX.
Best compromise I've seen is the silverstone FT02 dat rotated ATX...
I'd like a Raven case again, but this time not 200% cheap plastic.

That's why the Duke controller has that massive Xbox logo in the middle, it was originally the VMU window. Not to mention all the other similarities with the Dreamcast controller.

I have been so used to the luxury of auto-MDIX that I didn't even give it a second thought that I would need a crossover cable to connect a Catalyst 2950 switch to a 15 year old Netgear switch. Spent an hour on that one. For fucks sake. At least it was on company time. v:v:v
please don't be ITT tech or whatever canada's equivalent of ITT tech is
The school I was wanting to do at first is pretty much a technical school "university", the one I am going to attend is an actual College. It is doing the courses fast track and requires industry experience, they took my A+ and comp tech status as that.
After months I finally found and solved the framerate issue. I wish I knew back then that all I needed to do was disable core parking in the registry. Five minutes of work to solve months of headaches, this is one of those moments where I feel both smart and dumb.... But happy. [editline]27th June 2016[/editline] And it somehow went back to normal. I hate everything.
Ok so that W10 install I had, yeah that was the problem because holyfuckingshit my system flies now.
Swear I've seen something exactly like that before and it was by Razer.
Razer had a laptop with a touchpad and 10 buttons that was kinda like that.
Swear I've seen something exactly like that before and it was by Razer.
It's definitely been tried before unless I'm going crazy and it's always ended terribly.
