So I got a copyright notice from my ISP and it just happens to link to a convenient website where someone can pay the settlement that way. It's like $300. What do?
Make them mail you something physical in an official capacity. If not, you could always play the "it looked like a phishing attack" card.

Ignore it. Canadian ISPs are just obligated to forward these complains to the customers but they give zero shits about it. Also, your real identity is never handed to these requesters unless there's a court order.

Ignore it. They have no case and are preying on the ill informed.
Is it worth it to upgrade from a 380?
Depends on what you play really. Plus for now you're better off waiting for cards with non-reference coolers and by then hopefully new drivers will be out.
I have a 380X and may just get one since my card sounds like a jet engine at times, plus I have another computer with no video card I can toss the 380X into if I get the 480.

It's a scam.
I wonder if it made a difference if I actually went onto their website and used the log in code thing to see the settlement amount, etc. Oh well. They don't have mailing address, only IP address.
Phoronix posted reviews on his site on how to get the RX 480 working on Linux, and also how it performs.
Then someone posted those links to the /r/pcmasterrace AMD AMA, and now the website is dead. Oops.
I can benchmark my 390 in Elite which is basically the same card :v:

I'd still wait a few days though for the 1060 announcement and benchmarks. Just to have all your options on the table.
What's the deal with the 1060? All I've seen is the picture from Hong Kong that looked somewhat fake. Is there an official announcement coming soon?
Anyone willing to buy a new Pebble Time in the UK? Looking for about £70ish.
whats the difference between all of these "Founders Edition" from the different brands for the 1080? all the cards have the same cooler and look identical, I always associated brands with their coolers.

I've been playing doom and DS3 at 2560x1080 and my frame rate dips under 60 occasionally. I'd be handing down my 380 to a buddy of mine but waiting for the non-reference sounds like a good idea, maybe I'll just wait until I get back from Kuwait next year
Why are you going to Kuwait?

Nothing, it's the reference card. All the manufacturers get the reference plans before they sell their own.
So, I do plan to get a rx480, question is, Would PCI-E 2.0 be too much of a bottleneck for it? How about if I crossfire it? I have an ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0
It supports Crossfire

"Founder's Edition" means it costs more money, so that board partners can charge a similar amount for their custom cards.
(It's a different reference cooler. So, there's two reference coolers)
good to know. decided to buy myself a Inno3D 1080 iChill, hype! don't think I've ever heard of Inno3D before but they seem okay enough from the research I did.
Why are you going to Kuwait?
Volunteered for a deployment.
I'm so dang ready for a new GPU, I might just get a rx 480 when they come back on Amazon.
Anyone find any VR related benchmarks? Or Elite: Dangerous
I don't know how the 480 fares against the 780ti, but I believe it's slightly (like 1-2 fps generally) worse than the 970? I think the 780ti is barely faster than the 970 again. VR in E:D can be ran at ultra settings, everything maxed, with my 780ti using the Vive. though you really want supersampling, that game is jaggy as fuck and everything is hard to read (green UI helps a lot). 1.5 SS is an improvement, but this kicks me down to low and medium. 2.0 would be ideal but I can't run this even with everything lowered to the min. or I can run it but it's not gonna be 90fps which causes headaches and nausea for me.
The guru3d benchmark of the card I purchased looks like the best stock OC card

Aren't those supposedly being discontinued because of a high failure/RMA rate?

yay
I worry with my i5 2400 the RX 480 is the best I will get for a GPU now. If this isn't already a sign I should already have a job I don't know what is.

I'll buy your things if they are better.
A few hours of the subreddit will cause people to start joking in a real discussion.
Edit: People are upvoting him, so I guess it's all fine now.

I work for an ISP in Ontario, all we're required to do is forward on messages from those companies to whoever had the IP at that time. From the very brief amount of research I did, you don't have to do anything. We have a small group of customers that we know on a first name basis because of the amount of copyright notices we forward on. As far as I know, they're still paying their bills so they haven't gone bankrupt or anything.
Moving from Fernandina Beach to Panama City in a few days. Here's hoping we can get access to real internet above 3 mbps.
On another note we're out of food in the house and my dad brought out a box of MREs from out of nowhere. I don't know where he got them from but they're very hit and miss. Most of them are miss. The bread is gross. Please help

What's the point when the fan side is facing down for most PC builds anyways?
It'll work for my case, Thermaltake V21.
