I got the same cooler on the 1080 I ordered in. I'm going to buy a Corsair's 600C so I can show off the card and other stuff as well.
I bought a CM 690 II in 2012, loved the case. I thought "Oh the CM 690 III would be a good case" when I upgraded my system, I've hated this case since day one.
Showing off my new shiny graffics card is a way to get me to upgrade.
So I bought a desk today..
When I got home and opened the packaging there were no legs. It was just the top of the desk with three of the four wheels. :goodjob:
and it's not even an ikea desk
[editline]29th June 2016[/editline]
oh wow, even the leg supports are missing
holy shit
So I have the R9 380. What to do?
for R9 290X - I've been offered one for $200-250
for RX 480
Just wait for reviews of the non-reference RX480 cards.
No point in getting a R9 290X at this point in time anyway.

For a small business, say... 25 employees, what would you recommend for a router.
Cisco Meraki :v:

i know what pollytheparrot/levelog would say
"buy all the ubiquiti equipment"
their shilling has convinced me
when i'm filthy rich and have my custom built home
ubiquiti everything: multiple APs, edgerouter, etc
I'm considering doing Ubiquiti AP's for the office, but wanted a solid high performance router for the office. Buddy from there said they wanted me to see what I came up with. They had a nice Nighthawk but once they moved to ATT, they said "Sorry, you HAVE to use our modem as the router and AP. No alternatives."
So... the Nighthawk is now not at the office and when I pressed everyone they just said "Don't ask" So I assume it was either thrown away or someone stole it. So my plan was... we got an AT&T Fiber modem to a Router, then into a 24port switch and then AP's. We got the switch already there. I just want a solid reliable Router to manage it. Also hopefully not hard to manage. No real need for any real enterprise stuff I imagine.
My buddy bought a nighthawk last year for $300, then his parents kicked him out and they bought his router from him. He turned right around and bought another one for $200 at costco. :v:

aren't we always fucked? one appeared in a store here and it's $350+

oh boy, the other sysadmin at work (and my boss/mentor/senpai whatever) wants to quicken the upgrade to a vm system, he talked about an i7 with like pc grade parts like that was the norm :ohno:
talked to him about xeons but god damn i don't know jack shit about professional grade stuff
this is going to be a disaster

I don't really care for edgerouters and edgeswitches but UniFi AP's are legit good.
I have about 430$ to upgrade my CPU and GPU, what would you guys recommend? I'm coming from a i3-3210 and a GTX 560 ti so I haven't upgraded in a while now.

Yeah the edge products still have a good bit of growing to do. The USG ain't half bad though, nor are the unifi switches.

If you want capabilities anything in the mikrotik CRS series (if the connection coming in is less than 100mbps) would be very good for a bit over $100. A smallsr routerboard+switch like the RB2011 or 850G would be a great choice above that bandwidth. The learning curve for configuring it is a touch steep but they have a decent quickset utility.

I'll fire it up on ebay if no one responds by the end of the day.
Ah, the joys of custom ROMs on phones. Gotta love my phone randomly going into airplane mode, hence missing messages and getting a black screen, hence requiring a forced reboot to fix.

If you're good at networking, you know your networking terms and you know how to set up more advanced stuff, get a MikroTik CloudCore.
I highly recommend this series of routers as you can do virtually anything with them, they perform extremely well and they're not even expensive!

Except CCR's are about $350 minimum and way overkill for an office of 25. A lesser RB is a much better choice.

I put CM13 on my Moto X Pure Edition and it's actually better. It hiccups now and then but everything is improved. SOT, idle battery life, even camera quality. I didn't even lose the good Motorola features like twist to open camera and chop to flashlight.
Rust seems like a genuinely good game but I'm really off put by its playerbase. I wasn't able to live longer than 4 minutes at most when I launched the game just now, often dying just seconds after spawning. has it become natural to kill people on sight, even if said person is completely naked with nothing but a rock?
so apparently the rx480 is out of pci-e spec
great work amd

Games like that always have folks who derive pleasure only from killing other players.
I could set up a CIPWTTKT server if we want to get a small community going though.
One market that really needs to pick up VR is the apartment management companies and apartments.com/similar. The 360° photo tours are nice but a VR tour would be really helpful.

If you already have wireless covered, a Mikrotik hEX will do the trick, they're pretty cheap. You should be able to use the Quick Set feature to configure your usual settings (IP range, WAN type, ect) without too much trouble.
To be different rather than suggesting the obvious (And good) Ubiquiti UniFi stuff, for wireless Cambium has their cnPilot E400 cloud managed APs, which are pretty nifty. I personally haven't used the hardware so far, but from some brief research they look very nice and at work we might use them in an upcoming project.
Just don't use a hAP Lite... Never use one.
Just got myself a GTX 1080. What next to upgrade? Or am I good for a while?

On a side note, Speccy seems to think the 1080 is 4GB.

CPU in the Intel Broadwell/Haswell series would be a formidable upgrade. But that would be a bit of effort since you'd need a new MB.
