I used one in my garage as a WDS repeater before I ran CAT5E to it and made it an actual AP. Worked fine. I also keep one in my laptop bag to run off my battery bank. I've never pushed a ton of connections through NAT or a firewall through it, though.

Are there any keyboards that don't look horribly ugly and aren't too expensive? I really like my current keyboard but the paint on the keys has worn off pretty badly and it's getting annoying to type on.

Something around 50€ or 50$.
If you already have wireless covered, a Mikrotik hEX will do the trick, they're pretty cheap. You should be able to use the Quick Set feature to configure your usual settings (IP range, WAN type, ect) without too much trouble.
To be different rather than suggesting the obvious (And good) Ubiquiti UniFi stuff, for wireless Cambium has their cnPilot E400 cloud managed APs, which are pretty nifty. I personally haven't used the hardware so far, but from some brief research they look very nice and at work we might use them in an upcoming project.
Is it in my best interest to get a separate Router box? Or would a nice like Asus AC88 do the trick you all think? I just assumed it would be best, but since i'm not really... employed by them anymore, just a friend of the company and contractor I wouldn't be around to fix issues all the time. If I was there to manage it, it might be fine. But maybe just a high end single box is what I should do.

I don't know if this is reason why, but apple considers unauthorized repairing of macbooks to be making them into PC's instead of macs. so selling a repaired macbook as a macbook is fraudulent in apple's eyes because the modified mac is now a "pc" and it ruins apple's brand by mislabeling it.
In the video he talks about how if a person (or company) is rich enough they can get laws passed that allow what somebodies doing to be put into a grey area where its copyright/illegal. I think the implication is that apple is cracking down on "unauthorized" mac repair videos
i'd like to point out that all the schematics/circuit maps he has of apple boards are totally not obtained in any sort of legal manner
those board views are basically stolen from apple by factory employees iirc
i'm not saying it's right what's happening, but that there's definitely a reason for them to not like what he's publicizing
[editline]30th June 2016[/editline]
apple basically knows that the board views get stolen, but until louis rossmann showed up, they weren't really as well known
especially considering that he's shown the source url for board views a bunch of times
my thoughts from that thread
shit sucks, but he's made himself a massive target by basically helping distribute the apple boardviews

Going beyond this, don't even click on any links, and don't show any external pictures in the email. I'm not aware of anyone using this in copyright notices yet, legitimate ones or otherwise, but they will use unique identifiers to keep track of which emails got, and looked at, the notice. By not going to any links, or loading any pictures, it's just a black hole. They don't know if you looked at the email, or not. They do use codes to validate things, but embedded images aren't being used from what I know.
This has an extra legal implication besides just validating the email address for more spam. If and when you actually get sued for something like this, they can use these as a sort of circumstantial proof that you viewed the email. Think of it as the email equivalent to registered/certified mail with return receipt. They have some form of validation that the letter was received.
I wonder if it made a difference if I actually went onto their website and used the log in code thing to see the settlement amount, etc. Oh well. They don't have mailing address, only IP address.
Yeah, you fucked up really badly if you did this. NEVER respond to anything you aren't willing to pay unless it's an actual summons to court. Doesn't matter what it is. People send threats all the fucking time. It's just fishing for low hanging fruit. People threaten to sue all the time too. Rarely does anyone actually follow through. Same applies to debt collectors in general. If you don't want to pay the debt, even if it's valid, don't fucking talk to them. It's like talking to the police. It CANNOT help you.
[editline]1st July 2016[/editline]
Just going to quote myself from a month ago.
This is why you demand proof of the debt, and never acknowledge any debt that you are not willing to pay. The vast majority of the time a simple letter to them via certified mail saying that they must communicate with you through mail to provide proof of the debt before you will communicate with them further shuts them up. Much of the time they have no 'proof' and are hoping that you just roll over. That's also why they rarely take you to court. Even if they serve you, you can just ask them for proof of the debt in court. The thing is that you must respond to a lawsuit. Once they have a judgement against you, it is extremely difficult to reverse it, even if it is invalid, because they get to ask why you didn't show up the first time around. Until you are actually served with a lawsuit though, all they are doing is blowing hot air. It can be annoying, but debt collectors have shockingly little power due to the protections under the FDCPA. Most of the nasty examples used here are flagrantly illegal at a federal level, and you are given a cause of action to sue them if they even call you too often, let alone make death threats. In fact, if they make threats, and you have police reports/recordings, practically any chance they would have in court goes out the window. If they actually threaten to harm you, you've more or less already won.
It's the same shit with copyright infringement notice spam. Even if you do owe a debt, if you do not incriminate yourself by acknowledging your debt, they are required to prove it in a court before they can do anything. Treat everything like it's a scam and ignore it until you get a notice to go to court, and if, not when, you actually get a notice, show up.
The worst thing you can possibly do is not show up to court if it ever gets that far. The second worst thing you can do is to give them any information. In many cases you don't even have to tell them your name, or confirm any other information about you. It's their job to prove the validity of something. Don't make it easy for them.
TL;DR: Don't feed the trolls.
You fed the troll. You're probably going to get bombarded with notices now, and might actually get sued. Well that and your email is probably being sold to spammers now.
Bunker down, and hope you don't get sued.

This is exactly the reason why I was annoyed when Google decided to make gmail automatically rehost any images in the emails. Now you don't even have to open the email for it to be marked as read by them.
that's the point

The annoying thing is that this doesn't work for any company that isn't enormous. Spammers know that google does this, but lots of company emails don't. This means that doing this just attracts tons of spam because 'hey they are viewing it.'
It would be nice if most companies started doing this because loosing this feedback would tremendously dilute the efficiency of spam on a worldwide level.
Games like that always have folks who derive pleasure only from killing other players.
I could set up a CIPWTTKT server if we want to get a small community going though.
sounds like it could be fun! it sounds like the community might be a little too small though, doesn't a lot of the fun of Rust come from player interaction with potential enemies / friends?
Playing rust is oddly reminiscent of playing on 2b2t, but only in part. I personally preferred wandering around 2b2t more because of the sense of age that years of dedicated hardcore destruction and griefing does to the world, combined with the odd monument that nobody touches for whatever reasons.
Rust is just localized griefing and raiding. The maps feel empty and devoid of life in comparison.
My 2 cents: There's really no point in having a tiny community server in rust because there's not the same sense of effort put into building, and you aren't going to really go around destroying other people's shit. Just surviving isn't difficult by itself.

This one starts from 0, but also takes up way more space and the whole thing looks a lot more cluttered. 80% of that chart is just a waste of space.
