I mean, it's two wires. You could get stereo over it.
You'd need three wires for stereo. One for each channel and one for the common.
If you had a three-prong to stereo 3.5mm you could use the earth as the common and the live and neutral as each channel, and then you could listen to all the ground faults in your house :v:

1080 babyyyy
only bummer is that it only came with a single DVI output, how am I gonna use my second screen now?
Use an adapter?
Use an adapter?
the card has 1 DVI, 1 HDMI and 3 DP. DVI and HDMI is occupied by my Vive and my 144hz screen, so that means I need either a VGA or DVI to DP. I can only find VGA to DP, not DVI to DP :scream:
is VGA okay if it's a 1080p @ 60hz screen?
[editline]4th July 2016[/editline]
also holy shit this card is HUGE. I could barely get my USB3 header to connect since the cable is baarely long enough to get around the card
No you need Displayport to DVI, which is the most abundant adapter ever.

Their cards(this is a 980) are hideous. :v:

The brand is actually inno3D
iChill sounds like a really shady brand name
I'd rather have that than my GTX 760 right now personally.
Someday I'll upgrade from my 590.
I take it iChill never made any coolers for fermi?
I mean, it's two wires. You could get stereo over it.
I do wonder what the intended use case is for, though - sending audio over what's normally a power connector, or sending power over what's normally an audio connector. I had a cheap PDA thing years ago that used a 3.5mm-ish jack for charging, although it was stretched longer than normal audio connectors, and I think it was TRRS instead of TRS.
Actually I can already see it being useful.
Want to put a speaker into a really weird place in your house? Disconnect the power outlet from mains, reroute it to another wall outlet near the stereo and you can put a new speaker down into the corner with no wires visible.

Yeah I'd be surprised if the 1080's ports weren't dual mode DP.
How do you justify spending the money on a 1080?
How do you justify spending the money on a 1080?
Just ordered one.
The Price of a 1080 is a small fraction of my monthly paycheck.
I just want the 1070 to go down nearer to its MSRP
Founders editions are exactly as overpriced ($527 US) as the non founders 1070s here. What the fuck.

This is why I still think Discord's UI is fucking awful. Same for Premiere.

Founders Edition is cheaper than non FE ones, and up until recently, GTX 1070's were only 10 dollars cheaper than the GTX 1080's.
I currently ordered the "ASUS STRIX GTX1080 O8G-GAMING", which costs about 860$ (20 dollars more expensive than FE) but it will take a while until it is available, since it's sold out with -80 currently in stock (80 Orders waiting for it to get in stock).

Easy, plays a lot of very demanding video games and wants the hardware to drive them to a very high standard and you haven't upgraded in a good few years. Though to be fair it still doesn't justify us who just want to run stuff at 1080p60.
Ever since I bought my 1440p display, I've been wanting games to run better than my 980. This is my perfect opportunity.

Well, tbf, just because you're running stuff at 1080p60fps now doesn't mean you will be for the next 3 to 4 years.
