looks like AMDomination is more like "AMDoesn't Suck Anymore", but hey that's still good
Who the hell thought it was a 1070/1080 competitor? Check the pricing, it's a brilliant mid-range card, I paid that much for my 270X when I bought it.
My sockets are ready.
My sockets are ready.
But they really aren't :v:
I already put a goal on my bank account for $250 by June 29th :v: [editline]1st June 2016[/editline] This'll be a nice upgrade from my 670
How come YouTube doesn't have a dev server? They just pushed an update that makes list view render the same as grid view.
So it turns out that when you drag and drop stuff in Windows (10), you can only do one at a time. I was dragging and dropping footage from Windows Explorer to Premiere CC and Premiere did it's typical importing thing. Someone sent me a link and I wanted to drag it to my web browser and it turns out that I couldn't do that until the importing finished. If you're wondering why I don't just open the link, I wanted to open it in a specific web browser.
This probably doesn't need to be mentioned here, but I'd like to remind everyone to cool their tits before getting too opinionated with the 480. Right now, the only thing you can really say is, "those numbers look good, but we'll need to see independent third-party benchmarks".
I don't expect it to be better than the 1070 (if it is, then what dark magic is AMD doing :v:), but the pricepoint is so much better for the average consumer. Me for example: I want a new GPU, but I can't justify a 1070 as I don't play all that often.
I wouldn't even fucking TRUST a WD drive with that much data unless I had a backup.
2tb green drive held me up for like 3 years of 24/7 uptime but when it started going down it took like 1/10th of all blocks with it, rendering my movie collection mostly unwatchable with like 5mb missing each
I should really just get an old computer or something that is dedicated to just uploading crap onto Google Drive. I can't really pause and resume uploads to Google Drive without it fucking up and forgetting about some files, or redoing the upload entirely so if anything, I should find a program that would upload files and check if Google Drive actually has it all. Or just drag and upload stuff and forget about it. I have like 3TB to upload and it's going to take about a month to upload with my 10Mbps upload speed. I don't think I can get any faster upload on any ISP unless I get gigabit or something at my place.
Is there like a good way to completely reset the windows update for win7? I stopped updating back around october/november last year, because of the whole win10 thing :v: And i don't know exactly what i did to halt it for good, but i stopped it, i know that much. However, with Microsoft having stopped their win10 desperation phase, and there's now tools to remove both updates and doing the registry edit thing, i feel good about trying to update again. But now, it either keeps searching for updates, and (what i can't reproduce at the moment) when it did actually have some 66 or so, updates lined up after a restart, it just stayed at 0% for hours, when downloading and installing them. I tried clearing out the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder, i tried restarting the service through services.msc, but nothing has helped so far. Are there some other things i could try in order to get windows update back to working order?

I was under the impression that the RX480 would about match the R9 390 and the GTX 980, which would be pretty damn good.

I'm really curious what happens after FP2.0 See you on the other side.
Probably generating self CIPWTTKT content here but how come tarring / and piping it over an ssh channel (and writing it using cat on the other end) doesn't just tar the drive contents? Du says the drive has 3.3 G used but as you can see it's somehow managed to tar over 5 GiB so far. The fuck am I missing here I'm bad at linux. [t]http://helifreak.duckdns.org/image/20160601115610407.png[/t] I feel it's got to do with /dev or /proc or something and I'm going to have to specify directories manually. It's in a bash file so it's not like I have to write it more than once, I am far too lazy for my own good.

Now it pops up saying there's new updates, as it would, had it actually stopped searching for them, AND FOUND SOME, but it is STILL searching!! WHADDOIDOABOUTTHIS
I was under the impression that the RX480 would about match the R9 390 and the GTX 980, which would be pretty damn good.
Here's a definitive summary of what we know so far: fuck all, wait for benchmarks. There's always a chance they fucked something up. Maybe they forgot half a gig of RAM somewhere, or something like that.

WHADDOIDOABOUTTHIS
Windows Update is like one of the jankiest most duct tape and prayers things out there There's hundreds of thousands of individual upgrade packages, for the millions (?) of hardware configurations. Not to mention each having different versions because they need to be able to operate independently of any other package if need be since you can choose to uninstall any individual package you want. It then uses a pruning algorithm to remove all the ones you don't need from the update tree and finally download and install what's left. When I recently reformatted, it took over six hours to prune down the four years worth of updates needed for a fresh install of 7 SP1 [editline]1st June 2016[/editline] It's not uncommon for Windows Update to actually completely fuck an install
Ah, it was /proc/kcore. Good old linux just doing what it's told even when you are a fucking idiot and trying to tar the entire virtual address space.

So after alot of i-dunno-what it finally stops, shows about the almost same amount of updates, i pick some off the Win10 related shit off, and set it to download and install them ... It's the exact same shit as before. Downloading 66 updates, and it's fucking stuck again, right on 0%.
In the next year or two I'm definitely investing in a 10gb fiber switch (not nearly as expensive as you'd think even now) and a SAN with like 4x4tb drives so all my bulk data, games included, can go in those and I'll just have a 500gb SSD in all my systems. I should realistically be able to do it all for under $1500.
That would be cool because then you can just point your PCs all at the SAN and have all of your games downloaded only once. I wouldn't mind a setup like that. Could set up my girlfriend's music library to so that she doesn't have to take up any more space on her 256GB MacBook as she is now... P.S. Can anyone help with Component Store corruption on an Windows Server 2012 install? Or is something like that just extremely fucky and I should save all of my pertinent data immediately and start from scratch? I tried all the stuff with DISM and all of that errors out as well, even when pointing it to the original install disc.

I've done system wipes at work just because of Windows Update deciding that every update will fail to install perpetually and I ain't got time for this. On top of that, it's a resource hog. It actually a very significant factor in me basically dropping 7 on every system I could. 8 and 10 are still pretty janky but at least they don't take 500-1000 of RAM just to check if you have KB310234.
I just wanted this for posterity, since it seems like with new FP absolutely none of this will be attached to my username anymore. It's the title that I'm really going to miss. I think I paid money for it.
I paid a dollar for my title.
I can't see my title because of the color so I forget its there.
My title doesn't make sense now that my alternate personality is gone. It's like being a conjoined twin but your brother died three years ago. :c
i got bought my title by someone :~)
