Wingless is asleep post Itanium memes

I am constantly finding myself regretting going full ATX and not going mini ITX when I had the chaaaaaance.
"Ohh I'm gonna do SLI"
Fucking no you won't, SLI is dead and useless you dipshit.
"Ohh I want the flexibility"
for what?? You never do anything that requires additional hardware.
"Ohh I like my current case"
The case that is 5 years old, was poorly manufactured to begin with, is damaged anyway, and far too large for its own good? Good plan.
ugh I'm dumb.

ITX is too small for a PC that'll most likely stay stationary imo. I went with mATX since you sort of get the best of both worlds by having a smaller case but still a decent amount of "flexibility".
DTX WHEN?!?!?!

Please, Luke is much more handsome
I feel like Luke is yelling at me in every video he does.
Part of that is the hard limiting they do on all those voices. So there is almost no dynamics in the audio. It's so flat and loud. Listening on low volume does nothing for that.

Finally listed my server: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-R720-2x-E5-2650-2ghz-16core-32thread-128GB-2x-750Watt-Redundant-/322183800123?hash=item4b03a6a53b:g:9YUAAOSwkl5XfScN
Let me know if you spot something to change. Took me a while to get photos to list it.
Oh. I just assumed Canadians were loud because it felt like they're always yelling.
Holy fuck thats some starting bid for old server hardware, good luck.
Holy fuck thats some starting bid for old server hardware, good luck.
Old? The current production line is only one generation newer.
Holy fuck thats some starting bid for old server hardware, good luck.
That's actually along the lines of what most of the R720's of that generation are going for. If anything, he might be slightly underbidding them. :v:
I probably would have gotten it if I had a 2K to blow on the server and drives.
If I had loadsa money right now I would've bought it off him and picked up 4x4tb WD Golds and a pair of 512gb 850 Pro's.
Yea looking at finished listings, plenty sold for $1300-1400 with weaker procs with like 1 drive. So I think I'm ok. If I don't even get any watches in 4-5 days I might relist starting at 1k.
That's a lotta ram. :wow:

Yeah, its built to be more of a virtual machine host than a rendering server.
Yeah, its built to be more of a virtual machine host than a rendering server.
Which is why I'm wanting to sell it and move to a 6800k or 6900k build. Would end up being more useful to me.
Decided to change the thermal paste on my i5-2500 with a stock cooler (that Danish summer heat)... I'm gonna get PTSD from those fucking pins.

Even a Pentium beats it
I'm pretty sure you're posting a benchmark for x86 instruction throughput. In case of Itanium, it has to emulate the X86 instruction set from the native IA-64 ISA, so this chart doesn't mean much at all in terms of Itanium's actual raw performance capabilities.

Fucking hell yes. Cacti is finally working completely properly for monitoring all our broadcast site routers.

I'd rather build a pillowfort out of old Thinkpads.
It'll do double-duty as nuclear shelter too.

I don't think you see the problem...
100C on the CPU and 40C on the GPU
does that seem normal?

I haven't changed the paste on my i5 2400 in over four years, I probably should do it.

no, but you probably just need new thermal paste or something stupid
So you guys think I got a chance with selling the server? Levelog seems to think so. Wish I listed it earlier, could really use the cash to swap out my components.

Probably, but because its not cheap, it might take awhile before someone considers it.
Picked up two brand new ASUS ROG G20AJ desktops today, both i5 4660s with GTX960s, 8GB of ram, 2TB HDDs.
£220 each.
I'm a happy bunny today.
(Insight had a price F' up, they shipped :o)

It might take one or two relisting but I am pretty confident you'll get some bids on it.
