What is the point of the "next video" feature on YouTube when it returns completely unrelated shit like this on Louis Rossman videos: [t]http://helifreak.duckdns.org/image/20160708013335848.png[/t] I've never even heard of Bengali before, I thought it was Hindi. Do they just throw a random number generator at it and if you get unlucky it just shits out a video of some description? [editline]8th July 2016[/editline] Every time it happens the video always has a massive number of dislikes so I assume I'm not the only one and the more patriotic Americans out there immediately go and dislike it for not being in the only language that matters.
How much of a terrible idea is it to put a hot laptop into my freezer while it's exporting a video? Granted that it will probably run on battery power unless I can get the charger cable through without messing up the sealing of the freezer. Shouldn't be too hard, would likely just have it through the door and just close it tightly. Assuming footage and everything is on the internal storage of the laptop.

Not sure how much that actually matters - I do recall some benchmarks being done on phones both in and out of a freezer, to test thermal throttling, so it's clearly not an instantly-fatal problem. Also, aren't most consumer hard drives only rated to function from 0C-40C temperatures? I read up on that a while ago, my recollection may be off.

Also the laptop (if I was to legitimately test this) has an SSD so the only real moving parts here would be the laptop fans.
The Itanic!
Watching LTT's 6950x video. Always seems like Luke starts reading the teleprompter and then stops and just improves the rest of the sentence. And Sometimes, he... will. Offset his talking like he's trying to... come up with the next thought.
I've finally entered the world of mechanical keyboards with the Corsair K70 RGB because I am a sucker for my tacky customizable backlights, MX red switches. I am loving this thing. I wanted clickier switches, but due to the fact that I'm a noisy enough typer as is (according to other house members) I decided to settle for the reds, but I love the feel anyways. It's so much fuller than membrane keys. And the actuation distance is so fucking tiny, so little play involved and it feels amazing to play games on. Goodbye G19s, you were a pain in the ass anyways because you rarely ever worked right. Hopefully your new owner likes you more.
reds disgust me
Got myself a K70 RGB as well. Love corsair's build quality. They're obviously pricey, but it's a core device for my daily life for years, worth it to me to make it nice.
reds disgust me
Why, because the lack of the audible click? I didn't have much of a choice, it was either that or nothing, I get noise complaints filed to me in this house often enough v:v:v
Secure download manager still sucks ass. Always says that even when it's working fine. [t]http://helifreak.duckdns.org/image/20160708043320002.png[/t] Windows 10 sitting on 100% on upgrading home to pro with the default pro key is also concerning. [editline]8th July 2016[/editline] And the 8.1 pro key worked :ok:
My mech keyboard has reds, I wish I'd gone with a clicky switch
So I was using Outlook and ran into this lovely issue. https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/kb/3028159
Cause This issue occurs when a Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook account and a Microsoft Exchange Server account are configured in the same Outlook profile

Resolution Do not configure an Exchange Server account and a Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook account in the same Outlook profile. Instead, create separate Outlook profiles, and then configure the Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook account in one profile and the Exchange Server account in another profile.
Well that's just dumb and it's been around since Outlook 2010...
So I was using Outlook and ran into this lovely issue. https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/kb/3028159 Well that's just dumb and it's been around since Outlook 2010...
And this is the reason I use Thunderbird at work. Less weird stupid BS. :v:
And this is the reason I use Thunderbird at work. Less weird stupid BS. :v:
So I'm trying to add my Google Apps for Work account via IMAP and Outlook keeps on crashing.. like WTF.
So I'm trying to add my Google Apps for Work account via IMAP and Outlook keeps on crashing.. like WTF.
Today I had to tell a coworker to turn off Exchange cached mode because Outlook stopped showing when he had new email. It downloaded them, but it never showed the unread count on each folder. If 2013 is better than what it was 10 years ago, I don't want to know how bad Outlook was 10 years ago.
So Outlook keeps on driving me nuts. Since I can't have an Exchange and a Google Apps for Work account on the same profile (what's the point in having an email client if it can't even handle ALL of my fucking email addresses???), I decided to try to connect to my Exchange email using IMAP instead. Turns out that email address doesn't allow test messages and it also turns out that there is no way to turn off the test message function after attempting to log in. The setup can't go any further unless a test message is successfully sent. What the flying fuck. Earlier I tried to set up my Google Apps for Work account via IMAP and for whatever reason, Google decided to block it. I checked the settings and IMAP was enabled in Gmail and lesser secure apps was also enabled by the admin of the Google Apps for Work account. It says the client can't connect or some dumb shit like that. Why Outlook. Why do you have to be this annoying? I might as well go back to using my web browser to handle my email..
Why not use Thunderbird?
Wow, my credit union/bank is moving up in the world. I got a new debit card last fall and it was a plain old mag stripe card so I figured they were too cheap to upgrade. I got an email saying they're sending me a replacement credit card with a chip, even though my credit card doesn't expire till November.
Why not use Thunderbird?
It might sound dumb but in my opinion, the UI feels better and makes sense to me a bit more than Thunderbird. But due to the annoying shit that is Outlook, I have installed Thunderbird, did the setup without any issues and everything WORKS. So yeah, not using Outlook anymore. edit: one thing I wished Thunderbird had was the ability to just paste whatever is in the clipboard into the Signatures section in the email account setup. In Outlook, it has a nice editor for it and everything. I ended up opening Microsoft Word, pasting it there from GMail, and saving it as a HTML file to import it into Thunderbird. I didn't want to remake my signature which has a bunch of links on it from work.
Outlooks UI only feels good if you've been on shitty MS ribbon UIs for too long.
Outlooks UI only feels good if you've been on shitty MS ribbon UIs for too long.
I've been using the ribbon UI since Office 2007. That's probably why.
My Asus Radeon R9 270 died recently (Not fully, just fucked). The VRAM is suspected to be almost fried because the cooler design isn't really that good. So I'm planning on getting a Sapphire Radeon R9 380 because it's $300 NZD and everything else is more expensive or overpriced here due to taxes 'n' stuff. I wonder if I should try the oven method, it's out of warranty anyway. EDIT: I wonder why it says I'm living in Japan...
Which ISP are you on? [editline]8th July 2016[/editline] And I wonder if getting it from Amazon would be cheaper even after import taxes. [editline]8th July 2016[/editline] Ehhh maybe not. [t]https://chie.club/files/images/st/5489c80e-c8bb-4533-86eb-31cea6215f57.png[/t]
Flip. It's not under my name and I'm moving out this weekend. I was actually considering the Sapphire Radeon R9 380X because it's only slighty more expensive and there's more stock for it at the lowest price I could find. What does it mean when you dream about removing your CPU cooler from your desktop while it's on and, as a result, your cat dies?
That explains why. FLIP is CGNAT as you are probably well aware. I hope you're moving to a much more decent.. ISP in our lovely little nation. Also nice price on that 380X.
Explains the latency I had in games, quite annoying. I'm moving into a family members house, they have VDSL and might get Fibre. I had to cancel my Fibre connection, I had 100 down and 20 up, it was good.
It wasn't a quick death either. I was doing something with the cooler and I just get the feeling something is wrong. I hear a weird meow and i think something is wrong. I go downstairs a LONG staircase and my cat is just lying there, meowing very broken and quietly. I pick him up, and he gives a last quiet meow and he falls limp. I wake up really goddamn depressed. Moral of the story is don't fuck with the cooler while your PC is on, I guess?
-nevermind, shouldn't care much about it in the first place-
