Ya'll ever argued with someone so far up their own ass that they tell you you're wrong as you explain why they're correct.
Was debating this guy on YouTube encoding and qualities, and he basically made a StrawMan argument about the usecase scenario which is never how you do it and then said that scenario was pointless. I agreed, and explained that's now how it works and the back and forth from then on is what amounts to "So I was right afterall"
...y...ye-no. You're still wrong even when you're right.
Doesn't help it when people go into a discussion with the intention of winning regardless.
I only argue with flat-earthers, they're the most technologically illiterate people on the planet so it's pretty funny.

I just say "if the earth was flat then why do I have to add in the curvature for wireless links of 19+ miles?" They usually just look confused.
12 hours without power yesterday made Levelog a frustrated man. Also hot, because fuck Mississippi without AC.
Took me like 10 hours to fix Windows Update, a DLL that's shared betwheen Windows Update and tools like SFC and DISM, was corrupted.
Annoyingly enough SFC did like half of its scans and then just reported "No corruptions found", i ended up taking the DLL from a different build's updates, and that worked out.
In somewhat tech illiterate news, someone on my Facebook feed called Pokemon Go stupid and said everyone should go outside instead of playing video games.
Would the 1070 be a decent 4K card? Thinking about making it my next card...

Some of the "intelligent" flat-earther responses to things like this are actually pretty interesting. I think the best one I've heard is "the upward acceleration of the Earth combined with speed-of-light delay means that distant objects appear lower to the horizon because the Earth accelerates into the photons".

Wait, does that mean that the Earth is faster than light?

More importantly, does that mean earth is faster than 802.11ac?

If I recall correctly Nvidia's new cards seems to be made with specific resolutions in mind, 1060 for 1080p, 1070 for 1440p, 1080 for 4K. I'd check the benchmarks if I were you as it may perform well enough anyway.
Someone gave me a computer.

What was it with Sony in the 2000's and making weird computers?
I think as a joke I'll paint it the shades of green DeviantART uses and setup the OS so it can only access MSpaint, photoshop and a browser limited to DeviantART and Google Image Search.
Anybody know where I can sell old apple stuff to people who will pay too much for it?
Have an apple IIgs with pretty much all the accessories, manuals, and boxes. I need it gone; it takes up way too much space.
Aww, isn't that the machine you got last year?
I second putting it on ebay but photograph the shit of it and I believe you got the boxes too, right? Photograph those as well as Apple fanboys are creepy freaks and also like to masturbate over good condition boxes. You'll get a decent sum.

It's just too fuckin big for a guy who's moving around every three months or so for school. My parents no longer want the boxes taking up 50% of their available closet space.
Plus I haven't used the damn thing in ages and I feel like someone else can appreciate it more than me.
So we upgraded our client radios for the ubiquiti exploit a bit ago. Get a call from an angry business saying we broke their server.
First off, there is a zero percent probability that I broke your internal server access by upgrading the firmware on your WAN radio but I go to check it out anyways.
Turns out said business owner can't read red text because her password just expired around the same time we did the upgrade.
Oh by the way gman, I don't remember you telling this story so "and the meeting *still* let out early."

Assuming the 1070 is faster than the 980 Ti, you could easily game 4k. But some stuff like Witcher 3 you'll have to lower some settings.
I think I've asked before here but anyone gotten a newegg or amazon store card?
If your credit score is good, just get the citi doublecash card. 2% cash back on everything. No annual fee.
Most cash back reward cards aren't even close to that, and the ones that are either only apply to specific types of purchases, or have annual fees. If you don't need a significant credit limit (like more than 10 or 20 grand), and don't want a ton of cards, there is no better general purpose card. The one real drawback to it is that it starts with a very low credit limit if you don't have an excellent credit history, but you can easily expand it after making payments on time for a few months by just calling them up and asking about it.
[editline]11th July 2016[/editline]
Oh, the other drawback is that it has foreign transaction fees, so if you plan to travel a lot, you want another card for that.
My entire reasoning for the store card was for the financing options. I plan on spending a large sum to replace a fair bit of my aging computer. But I'm paid monthly currently for my editing and animation work.
The other rewards aren't as big of a concern for me right now.
Edit: Basically this card is just a one time purchase tool for me. I applied to it, so we'll see if it works out.
Fair enough. Amazon card at least has some decent universal rewards, and if you are primarily using amazon it is 3%. Not to mention the rewards get applied to amazon extremely quickly and easily.
Double cash has 6 months interest free as I recall, but that might have changed.
I also need to double check that when I buy my stuff it's all sold directly from "Amazon.com" instead of some third party.
Also considering if I should drop a new PSU into the cart as well just to be sure. Mine is a Cooler Master 1KW Silent Pro Gold. Crazy well built and stuff, BUT, literally like as of this month the warranty ran out. So I feel if I'm dumping a bunch of new money in my machine I should get a new high end corsair model.

I might go for this: https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-SuperNOVA-Crossfire-Warranty-220-G2-0850-XR/dp/B00IKDETOC/ref=sr_1_10?s=pc&rps=1&ie=UTF8&qid=1468271812&sr=1-10&keywords=Power+Supply&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011%2Cp_72%3A1248879011
+EVGA
+10yr warranty
+Fully Modular
I think 750Watt is probably plenty for me. I'm planning on moving to an Asus Deluxe II X99, 6900k. 2x16GB DDR4, I got my five harddrives, 4 SSD's, 980 Ti, and a bunch of fans. I think 750 is fine.
Edit: Actually, Evga has an 80+ Titanium Line. Bit more expensive, but worth it for the efficiency for me I think. But it's only down to 850W models. So going from $119 to 199.

I wouldn't bother replacing a quality PSU just because the warranty ran out.
