OBS is the way to go. It can record/stream from almost anything. I've done hours of recording and a few streams that were ridiculously long while recording with no problems.

If it uses the same ffmpeg, then I would assume there isn't much of a difference besides the UI but I'll give it a shot.
OBS Studio for general recording, and I've been using Plays.tv for my game recording.
Note on Plays.tv, if you have an older AMD card, like my 270X, the card has AMD VCE 1.0 instead of 2.0, which means 1080p60 forces the hardware encoder into a lower quality. Which makes the video look like this (I realize YouTube also murders quality, but trust me that the source wasn't the prettiest thing either):

The road in motion looks awful, and it eats up so much bandwidth that everything else will also start to look awful.
Edit:
I just had a look at the source file. Ok, YouTube murders it a lot, a lot, a lot more than I remembered. But it's still not as nice as it could be.

400 SEK/month for 100 GB of high speed data?
Damn, that's actually acceptable.
I wonder what happens to this when the European roaming cost for calls texts and data ends in 2017.
Because there are European countries where this costs more then 5x as much.
Would any provider actively sell to foreign customers though?
Depending on country, they may not even be able to because of KYC type regulations.

Bumper cam always makes me feel sick
Just got my GTX 1070 FTW in yesterday, upgrading from a 680. FPS in Doom on max went from 10 to 200. No joke. Also OCed to 2115MHz no problem.
so I opened a free USB stick because it had a nice casing I want to be on display
I didn't expect this to be inside it though

I see they're taking lessons from Chinese fake harddrives.

Actually I'll use it now. ShareX is starting to annoy me. I keep on running into this issue now when I do video recordings with it.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/s4bFWnd.png[/t]
And I get a not working video file out of it, wasting my time, etc.
edit:
Running to an error telling me that it is an invalid path or connection URL. I don't want to stream, I just want to record to my computers hard drive. The file location path is fine but I think OBS thinks it wants me to stream to something. What do?
edit2:
oh wait, I'm dumb. I pressed the Start Streaming button, not the start recording button.
Okay so what the fuck, Windows 10 wants to restart to install updates BUT IOT DOESN'T FUCKING INSTALL SHIT. I have clicked "update and restart" like 5 times today but nothing happens apart from restarting. It's pissing me off because every time I leave it for a while, when I come back it has fucking restarted itself.
Just to be clear; weren't we all panicking about sponsored data and net neutrality last year, and now we're seemly "ok" with T-Mobile doing such a thing with Pokemon GO?
Just to be similarly clear: I'm still against this kind of practice, but hey while it's legal might as well capitalize on it, yeah?
(I have enough spare data with AT&T that this isn't a problem for me anyway but w/e)

Like ten years ago I got a 1GB steel flash drive that I actually paid for and it was the exact same thing.
Finally. My 1080 FTW is on the way.
Is the other side of the board the same?
yeah, tho it's hard to show as the plastic covers it (and removing it possibly means the SD card gets moved around) , but I can see the square IC on the other side.
Monitor is now 2 days late, amazon says it'll arrive on saturday or refund.
So much for being a prime member. Also didn't get the prime day deal on it. Incredible.

OK so I tried to do some longer recordings and for some reason, the audio works for short ones but the audio flat out stops working for the longer one. Also so many dropped frames, ugh. Something is configured wrong and this is really annoying.

Speaking of Amazon, I just got a ton of packages today. It's Christmas in July!
[editline]15th July 2016[/editline]
I realized why my stuff came in so many individual packages. I had their free gift note option selected on all of them for shit and giggles.. so instead of having everything in a big box or two, it came in several individually packaged parcels... whoops.
I thought someone stole my package yesterday.
Turns out it came by USPS and they just jammed it in the mailbox.
He's a real character.

Also someone pls help, I can't do long local recordings without dropping like 90% of the frames and all of the audio and it's super annoying.

They should've just advertised it as a SSD.
Then they wouldn't be lying.

It's probably one of those flash drives that falsely report their actual size.
Someone almost wrecked in front of my co workers house last night. He pulled his phone out and checked pokemon and there was a blastoise standing in the street

I keep finding my packages in the mailbox, especially when they are a little too big to fit in there well.

I almost trespassed on Thursday, but before I entered the property, I had a closer look at the silhouette and it was a fucking Magikarp.
Holy fucking tits. This monitor is beyond beautiful.
IPS panels need to get cheap and mainstream so that everyone can get them.

I just did an hour and a half but it didn't save anything past an hour and 16 minutes for some reason. Didn't realise I had it on lossless and ended up with 54 GiB of Facepunch and YouTube videos. Have you checked to see if your hard drive is fucked?

With OBS ya? What exactly are you recording? OBS only drops frames for me when I'm recording a game that's maxing out my system.
there are more people subscribing to /r/pokemongo in the last 30 days than have joined reddit in that time frame
