I've been exposed to that, thankfully it was just a database of customers winter/summer tyres stored for the season and not something TRULY critical.

Not 100% sure if it's what I want, trying to fish for suggestions from some people. I had to mock-up the powerbank based off dimensions from the Banggood item page for the powerbank, so I'm not 100% sure that's accurate.
TIL AutoDesk has an online viewer, anyways I'd suggest having a locking clamp for the attachment for the bike. The way it looks like right now, looks like it will fall off easily. Take a look at cell phone bike mounting items to base your design off those for it.
what the fuck is with the $1200 titan x? with all the other 10xx series cards so much cheaper than usual but this is when they decide to launch their second most expensive card ever?

The RADIUS server runs on a Windows 2000 Pro VM. I managed to contact the developers after it stopped being updated well over a decade ago and get a new installer, pulled the license key and got it running on a Windows Server 2008R2 VM, but there's no license for it, so I have to pull one off another unused VM or wait for the Server 2012 R2 Datacenter licenses to be bought. Annoyingly, that's not even the only Windows 2000 VM.

Wasn't the last Titan X $1200?

I'm always shocked at the staggering number of companies that think like this for everything IT related.
Bean counters seem to frequently have this problem where they are incapable of understanding that fixing 'leaks' in the money faucet reduces the flow of money. Congrats, you saved 100,000 a year, and demand a bonus for how valuable you are. You also cost the company 250,000 because you couldn't put out a system that was on fire and had 3 days of downtime during the peak of the sales season. Must be IT's fault, those incompetent greedy fucks. :downs:
Yeah, there's real easy ways to legitimately waste money in IT, but refusing to get new equipment anywhere is a sign of systemic problems of thought in a company. IT just seems to be one of the first things to go because most people don't understand it, and therefore don't consider it important.

It's because IT is nominally transparent. People only think about us when something is NOT working which gives IT a reputation as some sort of evil money pit instead of the literal backbone of most companies that it is
Wasn't the last Titan X $1200?
i have it, it was $999. also i was wrong, the most expensive card to date was the titan z which went for $3000. though i don't think anyone bought that thing.
what the fuck is with the $1200 titan x? with all the other 10xx series cards so much cheaper than usual but this is when they decide to launch their most expensive card ever?
What? The last titan was 1200 at launch and the 1070 and 1080 are $50 more expensive than their 900 series counterpart launch prices.
[editline]25th July 2016[/editline]
They quickly dropped it to 1k, but it did initially launch at 1200.
IT also doesn't make any money directly (I mean besides the fact that every single department relies on them to make money), so it's just seen as an expense that can easily be cut and/or ignored

The cups are only for keeping Y-axis alignment, the actual holding on is done by two zipties - that's what the 4 holes are for.

Our entire ESXi host is dying and wiping out phone servers and radius and air control and everything. Good thing I'm leaving at the end of the week!
My mom has this old Sony Vaio from 6-7 years ago and it originally ran Vista. It is currently running Windows 7 and the Windows 10 free upgrade deadline is this Friday. I guess I should go do a fresh update to Windows 10 since it would probably run better than Windows 7?s

Friend raised an interesting point about the popularity of amazon and their AWS stuff. It's a single line item expense.
If you rent a bunch of servers in separate data centers all over the world, you have a bunch of different things to report on the expense list. Even ignoring the flexibility of AWS, since you can get scaling cloud solutions from plenty of different sources, nearly the entirety of your infrastructure is a single line item. They don't understand it, so they can't criticize it, and suggest that surely something must not be absolutely mandatory.
It essentially blackboxes everything.

Reminds me when I got in an argument with somebody about excel. I mean sure, spreadsheets are great, but people need to know their limits. At a certain point, the amount of money you save putting off a database server because "excel works fine and I know it", you're probably paying for in frustration and time wasted trying to recover your Excel spreadsheet because it got corrupted again. People seem to think spreadsheets are the answer to every data problem ever.

So today I discovered that my phone's carrier stores my password in plaintext on the server.
Also my pin. My pin as well.
I've for some reason delayed my move to KeePass and different passwords for every single site but as of right now I am making that move.
