I have to remember to go to my Uni's surplus store every once and a while. Last time we were there we picked up a like-new 42U server rack with power distribution and a locking door for $40.
Took us two hours to get it up the stairs to the club though. We never measured how big the stairwell was before we bought it and it got stuck halfway up.

It wasn't running when it hit, and it still says that it's "6gb" in the disk utility... Is there any way to salvage it? It gives off kind of a high pitched chirp when powered on but there's no grinding or scraping or repeated clicking or anything
I made a virtual machine manually through virsh, but for some reason, it doesn't show up when I connect to the host machine from my laptop, with virt-manager.
I hate this hipster shit bullshit, what happened to tools that work.

Oh okay. I'm running the VM under the user "nikomo" - running virsh list --all on "nikomo" shows no guests, but running it as root, does.

It migrated the VMs to a different user. That explains things. virt-manager forces the VMs under the libvirt-qemu user, but when I use virsh as "nikomo", the processes are owned by my user account, instead of the "libvirt-qemu" service account.

The 1060 is faster in DX11 games, but in the current lineup of new DX12/Vulkan games the 480 seems to win, the 1060 is only ahead in Tomb Raider.
