When their market share drops below 90%.
All the continuing bullshit with windows 10 just gives me a perpetual case of schadenfreude.
It truly is the gift that keeps on giving.
Wanted to try out something I saw in a blog post, made a VM for it.
So far, I think I've pulled in 90% of the F/OSS that has ever been written.
There's a mix of Postgres, shitloads of tooling regarding that, Python, and fucking npm.
I have no fucking idea what half of this shit is being used for.
The Postgres tools downloaded fucking libdrm, what the fuck is a database going to do with a graphics library?
Hey guys, watch this!

I'm going to be using it for mostly University work which includes programming and lots of Office stuff. And the odd few small games in Unity 5. Portability is a must.
The spectre looks like a laptop trump would have and the xps looks like it came from space.

Oh my this textbook just straight up tells you to set the font to Comic Sans MS. No wonder it had a 1.6/5 star rating on Amazon. She also doesn't know about <![CDATA[]]> and tells people they can't use < or > inside XML tags.
I thought textbook were written by people who have experience working in their field but I guess not since I despise XML and yet I know more about it than her.

Sounds just like how most advanced math teachers can't teach someone else math, unless they're already on the same level as them but just needs the good grades to confirm it.

Do you really think Pentium would ever use anything Linux based?
Do you really think Pentium would ever use anything Linux based?
I dunno I'd expect to see him using something WinMo 6.5 based
I didn't manage to get to UPS today. Worked until like 8:30pm on this new music video. These usually take like 3 weeks, I was told I had 3days. It turned out... fine, CEO thought it was great. But while we normally joke around all day every day, a few people kept doing the "Do you do anything here, Brett" like constantly, even as I was leaving the building. It was mainly because 90% of my time is spent finding footage or waiting for premiere to render on that workstation. So it looks like i'm doing nothing, a lot. They said they were joking and "You know we're joking about it... right?"
But it really grinded me down. Especially with the nonstop crunchtime. After I spent about $2000 of company money on stock footage suddenly people are surprised stock footage is expensive. Then as I was buying from Shutterstock, they locked the card on THEIR end because they saw so many purchases. I had to buy photos and videos separate. So i was on the phone with them to override the problems and make the photo purchase so I could keep working. One thing after another for three days straight.
Ruined my mood for a long time. Enough for me to go straight to a wine store and buy booze.

He was doing something magical.
It would be magic if he even had the thought to upgrade to Windows 7.
Though I agree with your sentiment of only wanting Windows in a virtual machine and nowhere else, I feel like you must be doing something wrong if what you say is really the case.
XP and 7 are pretty damn solid, they generally don't randomly fuck up if you don't mess with them.
I dunno. 7 is the only OS I've had that has just randomly decided to delete standard USB Keyboard drivers for no apparent reason. I have 8 different occasions at work, months apart, different models and master images, that Windows 7 just decided fuck it, I don't know how to use USB keyboards anymore, but mice are totally cool. One of them was at an entirely different company we merged with and aren't even part of the domain yet. So I didn't even have anything to do with it. Like what the fuck why.
Seriously, the usb.inf and usb.PNF files just disappear. :v:
I did it. I finally did it. I kept telling myself that I'd leap out of my depression and just try to create a videogame review like I wanted, and after a few days of writing, recording, and lots of editing, I now have a 10 minute review of I Love Katamari. I feel accomplished, for once in a long time.
Side note, I no longer hate hearing my voice anymore.

Sharpened toothpick*
Unsharpened ones are too thick and you run the risk of damaging the port with it
A gigabyte of video sure does take a while on 50 kbps upload.
So, I've got a VM on my old laptop (AMD Athlon(tm) II P320, so that old), with a multithreaded version of PokemonGo-Map running, storing found Pokemon into both its own sqlite3 database (with WAL mode turned on), and a Postgres database.
temp1: +71.0°C
