I mean it's one hell of an interesting question. I'd hate to be the teacher in that position, especially if the whole class was agreeing and I didn't know howl to answer. lmao looking back the thread he's trying to say that just because Hitler did it doesn't make it bad I mean isn't his execution of eugenics what made him bad? [editline]31st July 2016[/editline] nm if I comment on it here anymore I'm going to totally derail

So, Nvidia placed the Geforce 900 series under legacy support now it seems. http://www.nvidia.com/page/legacy.html What exactly would this mean? According to a hardware news site I read upon every now and then, legacy products don't receive game optimizations compared to the regular driver updates. I just hope that isn't true tho because this is ridiculous.

The 900 series still receives new features and optimizations and stuff as non-current gen cards did so in the past.
It means that the 900 series is now gone the way of Windows NT software and you should get rid of it immediately
It means that the 900 series is now gone the way of Windows NT software and you should get rid of it immediately
Hi, I need a new video card. Can I have your obsolete 900 series card?
I think at this point any machine with a 900 series GPU will leap frog my i5 2400, GTX 760 build. If 900 series is legacy I'm stuck in the Windows 98 era by comparison.
Is my GTX 460 DOS then?
Odd, I helped a friend order a dv6 charger replacement off Amazon since his died. It wasn't oem and it worked fine. Maybe it had a drm chip or something.
Could be, I just know it didn't like my universal car charger even though it was capable of delivering a stable voltage at even full load.
Could be, I just know it didn't like my universal car charger even though it was capable of delivering a stable voltage at even full load.
was it a type a to c cable?
was it a type a to c cable?
It's a oldass Pavillion DV7 as previously mentioned, barrel plug & all. Even checked everything with a multimeter, but it just wouldn't charge. But when you make cheap laptops with a low profit margin, Putting DRM in them so they only work with chargers designed for it is a obvious business move even though it's dickish.
Hi, I need a new video card. Can I have your obsolete 900 series card?
Anyone want my worthless 980 Ti G1
Anyone want my worthless 980 Ti G1
Sure, it's gotta be an upgrade for my 6870. You think it will bottleneck on a Xeon 5150?
Hi, I need a new video card. My parents need a short term solution and they'll be living out of the RV for a few months while we're trying to find a house, and they need full internet access (a hefty bit of data).

What's the absolute most PCIe slots I can get in one PC? I've got at least 9 displays but I need TV-out for each of them. Since the best I can seem to find is one S-Video per card I need like 9 PCIe slots.

There was an attempt to make something called Ultra-ATX that would allow 10 but it doesn't seem to be around anymore. You're probably better off looking for either some sort of converter, or video cards with more than one S-Video out. Or maybe TVs with something besides S-Video, if possible. You can get cards with up to six Mini-DisplayPort outputs.
Are they going to be stationary?
Yes
Can't you daisychain with DP?
DP allows for many monitors to be connected to one cable, so realistically you might be able to get a DP to a converter with many outputs.
Yes
What's the zip code they're going to be at? Fine if you're not comfortable giving that to me. Look for WISP's in the area.
VGA to S-Video exists. Both are analog and its a passive adapter then.
I don't think that is the case. The VGA connector has pins for each of Red, Green and Blue signals, plus another pin each for horizontal and vertical sync. The S-Video connector has pins for luma and chroma - essentially a greyscale signal and a color signal. I do not believe you can convert from RGB to YC with just analog circuitry, or at least, not without a very complicated set of analog circuitry.
but your mobo doesn't even have any pci-e slot
I think you missed that memo where I said that my new board was an i5.
I think you missed that memo where I said that my new board was an i5.
Now pentium's computer is more powerful than any of my secondary systems depending on what gen i5 it is.

But my curiosity would like to know WHY you need 9 S-video outputs. [editline]derp[/editline]
Now pentium's computer is more powerful than any of my secondary systems depending on what gen i5 it is.
I got a ASUS P8Z77-V LX and a i5 3570K in exchange for a small favor (a 30KM car ride) Also slightly related: seems DDR3 RAM has peaked regarding being cheap and are now getting slightly more expensive again due to semiconductor plants switching from DDR3 to DDR4 production.
Now pentium's computer is more powerful than any of my secondary systems depending on what gen i5 it is.
I believe it was first generation.
DDR4 still cheaper than DDR3 though. Only reason to use DDR3 is if you already had it from before Skylake and didn't want to spend $150-200 to get another 24-32 GiB. [editline]1st August 2016[/editline] Or if you are going AyyMD I guess.

If your just mirroring them, it makes more sense to get a distribution amplifier.
