VGA to S-Video exists. Both are analog and its a passive adapter then.
VGA to S-video cables are only for video cards with onboard capabilities for TV-out over VGA. I currently use a VGA to composite converter but at $30 a pop and not supporting direct control of the output resolution, I don't care for it. I can send 240p to the VGA converter, but I cannot control the actual output resolution between 480i and 240p.
Are they 9 seperate outputs or are you just going to mirror them. If your just mirroring them, it makes more sense to get a distribution amplifier.
Separate. I'm trying to use 9 old micro TVs as a single combined display.
ATX and E-ATX have a maximum of 7 expansion slots. There was an attempt to make something called Ultra-ATX that would allow 10 but it doesn't seem to be around anymore.
You're probably better off looking for either some sort of converter, or video cards with more than one S-Video out. Or maybe TVs with something besides S-Video, if possible. You can get cards with up to six Mini-DisplayPort outputs.
I've searched for weeks for multi TV-out cards. SO far I haven't been able to find a single thing.
Doesn't Matrox still sell something like one card that will handle 8 or 12 monitors at once?
What's the zip code they're going to be at? Fine if you're not comfortable giving that to me. Look for WISP's in the area.
That's a lot of zip codes. Is there a specific directory or site you'd recommend?

If they say "call for quote" next to them, you can't afford them. :v:

Yes but that's for VGA monitors. At that point I'd just use an Eyefinity card with DP -> composite adapters.

Looks like you're SOL for a WISP in that area. I'd call the RV park they'll be staying at and ask them what residents generally use.

Now he's looking at cell tower repeaters on Amazon because he thinks he can survive on 10-20GB a month.
Dear gods. Something earlier reminded me of Sparkbrowser, so I decided to check it out again. He's still trying to push it. It's still a thing!

And as always, no actual downloads or real release just grand promises of the future combined with stange nonsense meant to sound advanced or smart. And as always, coming soon.

Upon searching it, I was thinking of Their eight DisplyPort monitor card that only costs something like $2500.

I really hope this is satire.
DDR4 still cheaper than DDR3 though. Only reason to use DDR3 is if you already had it from before Skylake and didn't want to spend $150-200 to get another 24-32 GiB.
[editline]1st August 2016[/editline]
Or if you are going AyyMD I guess.
not over here at least, it's like 20-50% more expensive
not over here at least, it's like 20-50% more expensive
Probably still ends up cheaper when you don't have island tax though. Here it's $95 for 2x8 1600 MHz DDR3 and $89 for 2x8 2133 MHz DDR4.
In other news the lecturer has once again failed to answer the questions I've asked and given vague as fuck replies that don't help and just require further questions. She also spelt my fucking name wrong again despite it being at the top and bottom of the fucking message. Going to have to wait to tomorrow to reply, fucking fuming.

Maybe I'm just more annoyed because I have to turn my monitor brightness to 0 and wear sunglasses so I don't get headaches because my fucking eyes are still dilated as fuck from when I had to have muscle relaxing eye drops on thursday and they are meant to last 4-24 hours.
Win10 is working fine for me so far except my mouse input is fucked. Not sure if it's drivers or the mouse itself. It moves great but it barely registers clicks and it's getting annoying.

Nice, an over 5 year old thread bump
So what should I do
The item was packed by UPS, I had insurance. He just doesn't want to wait for the process. I feel like I'm the one getting fucked here.
I did find a replacement case with the shipping box for $199+30 buck shipping. I'd have that option if I had to refund the whole thing.
Unfortunately, in this whole process I'm going to be out like a minimum of like 400 bucks due to shipping and a replacement case. How do you do so many purchases from ebay and not keep the packaging when I fucking tell you I got insurance.
[editline]1st August 2016[/editline]
I'm going to offer a partial refund for the damaged chassis, but still going to ask him to hold onto the packaging for me. I keep the $900 something dollars and he has a working server.

Got a picture of the damage?
He may be able to bend it back into shape.
The address is a company which parts out and refurbishes servers, so I don't think it's a scam. I just think he's a savvy buyer, maybe a little too savvy.

I know I'm still in a good position but so many things have gone wrong the last month.
From the random legal ramblings I heard from America it is that you have to check the goods yourself before signing it to receive it. If he accepted it as damaged and has thrown the packaging away it's the receivers problem, yours stopped the moment he accepted it and has thrown away the part that was meant to resolve shit likes this happening when it happens.
not really
a ups guy isn't gonna wait for you to unbox a server and confirm it before you sign it
he's got other deliveries to make

That's true in theory, it just never happens like that. It's basically like an EULA.
after doing some research
brt you could in theory say "fuck off"
The UCC (Uniform Commercial Code) covers legal issues of non-delivery and damage in sections 2-504 through 2-510. Link to a copy of the UCC: www.law.cornell.edu/ucc/2/article2.htm#s2-201
The short version states that responsibility for loss and damage is based on the type of delivery contract engaged in when a buyer purchases an item from you. Essentially, if you state that you ship through a carrier such as the post office, Fedex or UPS and the buyer agrees to use of such a carrier, then the responsibility for the item passes to the buyer as soon as it is handed off to the commercial carrier. Link to a lengthy explanation, with legal case citations, to explain this ruling: www.scribd.com/doc/22374235/The-Uniform-Commercial-Code-and-Risk-of...
Yes, he should.
of course that's ignoring anything ebay/paypal think
eBay will pressure you hard to refund the buyer ASAP, unfortunately. That will not be a fun fight to fight.

Jesus christ, I remember this kid.
I would've thought over the years he would've pulled his head out of his ass already, but it looks like he just pushed it deeper
If they are a company that parts out the servers, why buy a replacement casing just to sell it off as a casing?
Looking at the photo, i'm pretty sure the damage is cosmetic.

Having worked in a warehouse before and dealt with suppliers who routinely shipped us shit that got damaged, we've told the dude that he ain't going anywhere until we verify it.
I think once we parked our forklift in his semi truck while we unpacked the skid and verified the integrity of the package. And if its damaged, we reject it and shove it back on his truck, period.
He said he's still working with his team to find the box and packaging so they can keep it for the claim processing. Hope they have it.
[editline]1st August 2016[/editline]
At the end of the day, if this satisfies them, I'm fine with it. I'm still like $700 ahead at the end of this. And if UPS can agree to the claim all of that goes to me. But at this point I'm fine with where it is. Just don't want anymore problems.
