But that MSI is out of stock :saddowns:
I'm just wondering here, but how many of you actually bought a Sandy Bridge processor/mobo?
Well, since more than one part of my computer is either dying or in dire need of replacing, I'll be upgrading in a month or two, three.

If you're wondering what I got:

Free copies of JC2 and Mafia 2? Sweet!

Yeah I got the free coupon too, good thing I bought JC2 in the Steam sale :rolleye:
Yeah I bought it during the STEAM sale too. I'm giving JC2 to a friend and keeping Mafia II.

What do you guys think of the mobo and ram? Sorry to sound impatient, but I'm waiting on a reply before I order. I just want to make sure I'm not making a very expencive mistake.
Corsair is good, you won't be making a mistake.
Easily one of my top 10 IT companies of 2010.
And in other news, MSI has a Sandy Bridge laptop coming out soon

my only complaint is, couldn't it have settled for a better GPU?
But still impressive how they managed to fit all that into a 15.6'' laptop
the GT680, which smashed speed records in PCMark Vantage tests with 18,162 points. Not only did it obtain the highest score ever for any laptop platform, it performs on average three times faster than other high-end gaming laptops currently on the market.
This kind of confuses me. An i5 2500K scores ~11K on PCmark vantage and this laptop managed to score 18K?

Those are still some bitchin specs
I wonder who came up with the name of "sandy bridge".
Sounds rough as fuck.
Going to get a new mobo this month, any suggestions? (obviously 1155)
1156 is the obvious choice in this thread? :raise:

Sandy balls...
[editline]11th January 2011[/editline]
NCIX has also put out a video of some UEFI BIOS, MSI seems to have put a game in theirs.

An Intel... integrated GPU.
That doesn't suck.
The world has ended and we are all in hell.
Also, what is the point of fancy UEFI shit like that? We already have an OS spend the effort getting your shit to boot faster like Google does.
To be fair I don't mind fancier GUI and mouse support, but games and applications can get the fuck out.

A suus, gooey...
I wish to slap this man until he learns to speak.

Pretty sure he said Asus right, but Gooey is annoying to me.
There is no way Asus reads as "a(n) zeus". "Ay-sus" would seem to be phonetically correct.

[del]Taiwanese bastards needs to learn to spell.[/del]
They actually got it right, american bastards need to learn to pronounce.
Why do you try to refute my arguments by agreeing with me?
It's hard to understand how you're saying it should be said, "Ay-sus" isn't really phonetic or whatever.

MSI Included some Turbo Boost thing, but it actually overclocks a shitload. Both the CPU and GPU.
The GX680 could probably score even better, seeing as it has an HD6870M.
And this new Sager laptop has a fucking shitload of value. Sandy Bridge + GTX 460M(upgradeable to GTX 485) + 8GB RAM for 1172 dollars: http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np8130-built-clevo-p151hm1-custom-sager-laptop-p-2973.html?wconfigure=yes
Totally knocks the G53SW out of competition as it is the same specs, but $700 cheaper.
The Integrated GPU is not even good you can barely run sc2 with low settings.
It's hard to understand how you're saying it should be said, "Ay-sus" isn't really phonetic or whatever.
I really tried to write it in a way that would be phonetically unambiguous. Ay can only be pronounced one way I'm pretty sure. And sus by itself leaves little up to interpretation as well. The binding dash implies fast, unbroken pronunciation and leaves even less to the imagination.
I guess I should have gone with Ae because I see now how Ay might be misread.
[editline]11th January 2011[/editline]
Whoa! Déjà vu!
The Integrated GPU is not even good you can barely run sc2 with low settings.
It would be great for HTPCs or normal peoples PCs. If SB was out a few days ago I probably would have made a SB build for my customer.
[editline]11th January 2011[/editline]
They got a x3 Rana and a 5450 instead, though.
These look nice although I think that I'll be fine with my i7-920 for quite a while especially if I upgrade from my 4870 1GB in a few months

oh look, typical bmb posts
2500k come it in stock and take my money!
Has anywhere got benchmarks of the P67 motherboards yet? Want a comparison.
