I didn't know either, but apparently all 1156 heatsinks are compatible with 1155
Yeah I know that now.
At least I got a decent cooler.
I found a MicroSD==>USB adapter, and I took the 4GB MicroSD card out of my phone and I'm using that.
Tonight, our Windows will blot out the sun.
haha i did exactly the same! Except i used the sd card from my camera.
To install the drivers though, i jury rigged an old external harddrive chassis to accept my old ide dvd drive :)
-snip i'm retarded-
Just finished faster than I expected.

Somebody in the other thread reported some success using the Beta BIOS drivers.
I will update the BIOS because I'm having multiple-boot issues, even though they aren't effecting performance, but it was just the install going a lot faster than expected and restarting.
Unless i don't get a good reason to dualboot i won't do it, kinda tired of wasted hdd space with ubuntu.
Currently copying drivers over, once I do I'll install graphics drivers and STEAM, start my games restore and go to sleep.
Just ordered my new build. Super excited. i5 2500k looks so awesome
Saturday 15th January
Between 07:30 and 17:30
From UK to an island to another island I doubt that very much I call Wednesday as the earliest date
MSI P67A-GD65
Stock: Delayed (No known date)
HOW LONG WILL THIS TORTURE CONTINUE? :byodood:
My mobo is coming from California, I live in Toronto. Estimated arrival: Thursday. :saddowns:
My package is less than 2 hours away, but it's been sitting in the same warehouse for 24 hours!
Up and running now, it's so snappy and responsive.
:byodood:
So my CPU has arrived, but the motherboard is still out of stock, it was supposed to arrive the 18th but now it has been pushed back to the 25th (and then it'll be pushed back again and again as usual).
Since I can't find any P67 Sabertooth in Sweden, anyone knows if they have it in stock somewhere that ships to Sweden? I won't make the error I made with the keyboard (thought "Oh well I'll wait until it arrives" and ended up waiting 3 months before saying fuck it and buying another one, and it still isn't in tock now 6 months after).

It isn't out yet.

Probably not going to be until that release date either yes.

I had no idea it wasn't released actually, thanks, you saved me a few hours of running around like a moron searching for some seller with a non-released product in stock.
Well I don't have much of a choice other than waiting then, I just hope they won't delay it.
Why not just buy another? Something special with that one?
Why not just buy another? Something special with that one?
Nah, just that it doesn't cost much more than others (others cost around 30€ less) and is (supposedly) built with sturdier/better materials, I might as well wait 5 days more (my current CPU still works so it's not a hurry).
As long as those 5 days don't become 15, then 50 and so on, then fuck that I'll just get one of those in stock.

There are a bunch more there, but i see now most is sold out :v:

These things sell like lube at a furry convention (classy comparison :v:), it's like that pretty much everywhere else too (though I'm not sure how many are "stocks depleted" and how many are just not released yet).
Wait what,
http://www.inet.se/artikel/1901944/msi-p67a-gd55
and
http://www.inet.se/artikel/1901943/msi-p67a-gd65
are exactly the same now, did they change something? I'm freaking out here.
When i bought the gd65 it said that was the only one of those that had sli.
Gotta get an answer so i can change it, i don't need eSata anyways.
Was about to order from scan considering I only live 10minutes or so away from their store, get home, check site.
i5 2500k, out of stock :saddowns:
Noob question:
What is all the talk about DRM and Killswitches? Does this mean that intel is going to be blocking piracy some how?
Noob question:

DRM: Not really DRM since it is a encryption for future HD movie delivery, very similar in nature to HDCP.
http://blogs.intel.com/technology/2011/01/intel_insider_-_what_is_it_no.php
Killswitch: A corporate level software suite that is designed if you have your laptop stolen to kill the computer to save confidential files from prying eyes. It has been around for years and AMD has a very similar system.
Finally finished building mine :buddy:
I've gotten to the BIOS without any boot issues so far, going to try to live boot into Ubuntu now

Ok, thank you :)
But after reading the article I don't understand 100% - if I have a i5 2500k, can I still theoretically pirate games, movies, and music etc?

If I were you, I wouldn't ask that question on Facepunch.
Sitting nicely @ 4.5GHz on my 2500k, max of 65c at load. I could go higher but I don't need to as of now.
