Not worth it probably...

definately not worth it
If you already have 1366 you should probably wait until LGA 2011 at the end of next year.
LGA 2011? There's a new socket coming out AGAIN? WTF INTEL!
This socket is expected to be released alongside Sandy Bridge-EX in Q3 2011
Q3? Fuck that's a long time
These new processors will run on todays 1156 motherboards?

Is it that hard to read the thread?
The 980x isn't for gaming, well what I mean that games don't/wont use all of its resources. Its more of a work CPU, no idea why its up there.

Because it happens to be the best performing.

True I guess, however how many people actually buy a 980x for gaming?

Kids who have rich parents, like you supposedly.
I would buy a Intel core i5 if I were to "Just game" sorry but I have other tasks to do.
Quite a lot of people game and work, so seeing how a "work" cpu performs in games is useful
Has anyone heard anything about mATX mobos for this socket?
I don't see why there wouldn't be, seeing as this is supposed to replace 1156

Wonderful. I want to try out an mATX gaming build when 1155 is released. :buddy:

I was going to make a nice car analogy about why this was wrong, then i realized you got permabanned.

Yep, he spent his last posts trying to get a 1,337 post count. Then he requested a permanent ban.

Oh yeah, I forgot. You need to render and develop Crysis 2.

YEah, but his CPU will probably steal the demo and sell. It's a suspicious core.

You do realize that an i5 is pretty damn good for anything...
right?

Check guru3d, i heard they have a preview of such a board, but it is H67

And so ends the tragic story of another illiterate :sax:

I'm so glad he got permabanned. One of the worst posters in H&S history.

Are the new boards going to be more expensive than usual?
I'm guessing it'll be like the 1156 mobos - there'll be cheap ones, but there'll be expensive ones as well

I was figuring they would be around the same as 1156 pricing, but some of the boards have been put on sale early and the nice ones are ~$200-250, but this could be prerelease gouging since the chips aren't even released yet.

i7 would be much better for stuff like video or 3d rendering. Or a xeon if it's a workstation only.
-stupid, uneducated opinion-
It is released in Malaysia. I am not sure if it is true, but it says so.
