Go for a built computer, the Prebuilt ones are usually more expensive and don't work as well for gaming. If you don't know how to put it together you could probably ask around and I'm sure there's a tutorial on the internet somewhere.
Macs, Dells, and Alienwares are the way to go.
Just kidding. :v:
If you're honestly that against building your own you could try Cyber Power PC.
You'll still be getting ripped off, though.
Long story short: You can save a lot of money by building your own PC.
Oh yeah probably.
Still, I want to know from him.
$20 he says prebuilt.

Yes, send me your money little kid. That is how we build computers over internet.
You better just admit what your real age is. You would gain some respect on Facepunch if you tell us it.
Anyway, go to Newegg.com or Tigerdirect.com
You can also try Best Buy... if you want to get ripped off.
14 there you go my age, i didn't know what to do sorry about that i know there are websites were I can build my own computer so yeah

Do research on parts of computers for at least a few weeks, then order your own parts and build your own computer.
Why cant we just be serious, we find a good prebuildt, or we use a site able to put together the PC parts we pick. (NOT Dell or Alienware...)
Remember, Source games aren't the most demanding games out there, and if we manage to make a Crysis build for 1000$, a Source build shouldn't be much harder.

Hardly such a thing as a good prebuilt.

Ok, sorry if I annoyed you or anything.
It's because you thought that you are supposed to send me money to build you a computer.
I just thought that was really ignorant and shall I say stupid.
I meant I would pick parts for you to buy online, and you would buy it from that website.
Also, I am not that much older than you and I am going to start building my computer tomorrow. I feel very confident it will work out, and that I saved a good $100 dollars instead of buying a prebuilt.
Anyway, you really just need to look at this for a prebuilt:
Dual Core CPU/Processor that runs at 2.4 ghz or more'
Video Card with at least 512 MB
Hard Drive Space - at least 320 if you want to seriously get all those games
Optical Drive - at least 8x speed
RAM - 4 GB
Here are some good manufacturers:
HP
Ibuypower
Cyberpower
Alienware (ONLY IF YOU REALLY WANT TO SPEND $1000 ON A $700 COMPUTER)
Last notes: Really consider building it yourself
Also, type in fucking sentences (pardon my French), it really annoys the crap out of Facepunch.
After finding what you think is a good computer, post the link in this thread.
Good luck.
I'm pretty certain it won't cost nearly 1000$, as long as we find somewhere where cheap prebuilt computers exist. (post above me i guess..)
Also, do you know anyone having more knowlegde with computers? Because building a cumputer is way cheaper than purchasing it prebuilt.

Build a computer yourself.
Don't get a prebuilt.
Building a computer is fucking simple.
Just look up a tutorial.
It will save you at least $500 to build a computer yourself.

yeah it was stupid and i kind of see what you mean *another dumb question alert* will it be like any computer building things on website like dell (friend recommended it)
No, you pick a computer with pre-defined specs, Dell is way too expensive for you right now.

Prebuilt means you just need to plug it in an outlet.
That's it.
You might need to download updates and such.

Either go back to 4Chan or stop posting that meme bullshit.

Also, If you are going to build (which you should), I personally recommend this guide: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/How_To_Assemble_A_Desktop_PC
There are a few guides on YouTube and such, but I find this one very explanatory and a good read. It might be a little outdated, but it does it's job.
He wants a prebuilt.
I'd suggest getting a HP
Under 700$ and you'll be fine.
Just go to your local Best Buy and check them out.

No. HP is shit for gaming.
[editline]04:26AM[/editline]
I highly recommend you build one yourself.
But here's a couple prebuilts.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229157
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227179
Both are pretty much identical except for the fact that the first one has an i5 750, and the second has a 965.
The i5 is better overall, but the 965 is great for overclocking.

Sorry Ghostme, this guy really thinks it requires an IQ of over 200 to build a PC. I just say we find a good prebuilt. It is possible to find a good prebuilt for gaming with his budget.
There are just some people in the world who might not actually be able to do something we take for granted, you know?
It's better and cheaper if you build one. You can buy parts at online stores like NewEgg or Tigerdirect and take it to a computer shop and they'll build it for you (runs about 100-200 or more. I think Best Buy's Geek Squad charges like 160-200) or find someone trustworthy to build it for you.
If you wish, you wish to, Buypower will build a computer for you, sort of. You select a pre built computer, then proceed to select parts (although they don’t have much of a selection in my opinion and this pretty much it.
If you want really want help though, you should at least make any attempt to type properly. It's like Facepunch's pet peeve when they see poor grammar. Plus, people with readable post will get taken more seriously than one with poor grammar. However, if English isn't your first language then you may get some leeway.
The two Ghostofme posted are good

This is a two-part video for building a pc. What are your current specs (as in, the specs of the computer that you're using right now, not just L4D2's pasted recommended specs)
If you really need a pre-built computer, you could try NCIX's computer builder.

Umm I posted those.
Who disagreed with me? Whoever you are you're a bad reader. Just back track and look at my post.
