Hey no point rating me dumb, It's well known that the capacitors do, and so my CPU was making a sound learn about PC's more before you come in this section.
Except that if my memory serves me correct, CPU don't have any capacitors.
Except that if my memory serves me correct, CPU don't have any capacitors.
This is correct. You don't. Also I didn't rate you dumb.
What are your voltages at? Once I got to 3.4 I had 2 blue screens in one day and I lowered to 3.3 to see if it was the somehow the cause
I'm not with the stock cooler myself though, but I have also overclocked another E8400 with the stock cooler to 3.6. Through the bios on an Asus motherboard.

But I'm sure it was the CPU itself, then again my new CPU made sounds on Simcity Societies so perhaps it's the mobo or the CPU itself could have been making sounds from strong load. [editline]10:41PM[/editline] Oh and another thing It actually made my TV fuzz when it happened. [editline]10:43PM[/editline] From looking at Google it was most likely one of the capacitors near the socket.

Last time somebody told me that, I found out they worked at best buy. but you still sound like a really swell guy! gee, I wish everybody could be as dandy as you are! [editline]04:06AM[/editline] tl;dr what you smokin boi? :350: :clint:

There certainly aren't any on the CPU itself. And I know I don't know everything about computers, in fact I know very little compared to some facepunch members.

fine i fixed it, dun be fussy again :saddowns: you break my hearrt
Try 3.6 with a vcore of 1.28750. I can run that quite nicely on my E8400, but now because of summer my PC likes to whinge at it a bit.
