When he said 775 he was talking about the socket
Should have phrased that better, i think some places sell 775's in large batches, as lots of computer have them. I might have a Core 2 Duo that me and my friend used for testing programs on, but my basment got some water in it, and it might be un-salvageable
oh I get why the first post is being rated dumb. People are thinking "Hurr durr brand fanboy." It's not that, it's that we have socket 775 computers and to see any decent performance increase we need dual core CPU's. Those are the two(I forgot celeron dual core) kinds of dual core CPU's for that socket. Ergo I am looking for them.
Haha, it was the fact that you went on to say "you might be able to get that many processors" :raise:
Yeah uhhh... totally meant to say since he has to get them for a class hehehe ... ah screw it had a brain fart there, but yeah 775's are a pretty common socket, check around on local used websites. Checked the computer, it was bust. I'll check my local thrift store however, people are always dumping the old p.c's there.
My school upgraded to I5's this month from pentium D's. There are about 2000 Pendium D HP computers that went somewhere now. I live in the Netherlands but I can try to find out where they went. Also I think you will have to buy the whole pc in this case not just the cpu.
I have a shitload of hardware, which includes about 6 Celerons, a Pentium II and III, and an unused Core 2 Duo, but I don't feel like selling em'.
I used the card through PayPal but its not linked, it's one of those Walmart moneycards :v:.
May i suggest if you live around other schools, go ask their IT Department for excess stuff. At my TAFE they were upgrading from Dell Optiplex 745s to Optiplex 755's and as far as i knew the 745s ended up in a storage closet.
I wish I had A 775 processor but I only have a Core 2 quad and thats in my main rig.
Wow thanks a lot! We can really use it. I'll PM you my address. You are a king among men, sir. You and Falco :3:
Oh damn sorry to be a party pooper but I forgot my cousin has my Athlon II since I'm going to build a PC for him.
Okay I figured out how to link the card to my PayPal, now I just need to find the time to send this out.
search on overclock.net I saw someone selling a ton of pentium 4/D cpus
