It crashes whenever she tries to play Sims 3. It also happened randomly with Discord earlier.
This stop code is usually caused by shitty/incompatible drivers. IRQL is a prioritization feature of the Windows kernel. In this case, it says ntoskrnl.exe is causing the stop likely because it's hosting the driver. My advice is to update or roll back major drivers until it stops happening. I could be more specific with more info. Does it only happen in games?
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL is almost always (but not 100%) a bad driver problem. Make sure her graphics and sound drivers are up to date, to start with. If they are, repair/reinstall over them in case they've become corrupt.

She's only mentioned it happening when she plays Sims 3, and once an hour or so ago when opening Discord, but that stopped happening for discord. [editline]4th December 2016[/editline] I had her send me a full driverview txt if that'd be useful, I don't know what info is useful here
We'll check that file later if the drivers don't fix it. Start with an update of the graphics driver for now.
"only when trying to load 'neighborhoods' in sims 3" she said when she loads neighborhoods it gets to the last part of loading then BSOD crashes... Sometimes the antivirus can stuff things. Try disconnecting from the internet, remove the AV then run the game.
There are users who are facing BSOD (blue screen of death) issues with the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL when they start their apps or put their system to sleep. The error arises from the ntoskrnl.exe driver. That indicates the problem with ntoskrnl.exe, it doesn’t mean that the process is problematic. It means to say that there are some systems services that operate via kernel image that are problematic. Here we have some solutions to fix this error but in case you want to solve this issue step by step go for the following website https://appuals.com/fix-irql_not_less_or_equal-ntoskrnl-exe-bsod/ Method 1: Uninstall problematic applications: At times this issue arises because of 3rd party program and it is solved by managing to recognize and delete the software that causes the blue screens error. If you have Glary Utilities or EaseUS Todo Backup program then uninstall them and reboot your system to fix this error. Method 2 Install the missing USB driver: This problem happens on laptops and notebooks that are older. You can fix it by tapping Windows key + R to run command and write devmgmt.msc and tap Enter to open Device Manager. Now go to the option of Universal Serial Bus controllers and check if there is any yellow exclamation sign that connects to USB driver. Start your system in Safe Mode by holding Shift while pressing the Restart button. Here navigate to the manufacturer’s site of your system and look for the USB driver that is interlinked with your model and operating system. At the end utilize the installer to copy the misplaced driver, and restart your system to get out of Safe Mode.
