CIPWTTKT&GC v 0x18 (v24): Warship finds something edition

The computers at my school are configured to block exes but still leave the run as administrator function available to students, yet it doesn't do any uac prompts and the exe runs as normal.
I have no idea how they managed that.
my school had core 2 quads with 4gb of ram and nvidia quadro 600 for most of the computers.
the generic ones used for libraries and such were the same as above only they ran off some motherboard-based intel gpu
[editline]3rd March 2013[/editline]
and of course after i graduate the teacher says that next semester they were upgrading to intel 6 core xeons and shit
That's a tad excessive.
Not necessarily. If it's for 3D students and shit then it makes a bit more sense.

Ahhh, web class. Having to stare at my teachers Dreamweaver for 2 hours. I'm supposed to be following along side but FUCK Dreamweaver. There is no way it's getting anywhere near my machine.
If there is a project/assignment you need to do this term/semester, I'd suggest you make a webpage about why Dreamweaver's bad and what they should use instead. Include examples, pictures, videos, a nice CSS sheet-based site with HTML5.

Or I could just, you know, not use it.
I never said that you should use Dreamweaver to make that site.
I never said that you should use Dreamweaver to make that site.
...yes I know, I'm saying I could just not use Dreamweaver for the project.

Arguing about Dreamweaver does nothing but make you look like an overentitled, smartass prick that thinks they know everything. Don't like it? Don't use it. Deal with it. It's not going away and it's certainly not going to help if I'm trying to get Dreamweaver out of a government defined class.
You could very easily argue that MS-DOS edit is superior to Dreamweaver in every way.
The way I see with Dreamweaver in classes is, you're given access to fancy software worth more money than you'll probably see in the next month or so, take it for what it is. Say no, do it manually. Don't knock those who use it, AS LONG AS THEY USE IT RIGHT. Meaning, no purely WYSIWYG, they use the things that work for their advantage (Automatic FTP uploading, browser view, hotkeys to test shit out in every browser ever, etc, etc). To each their own. Don't be a dick about it.
You were saying it was shite a few minutes ago
You were saying it was shite a few minutes ago
So? doesn't mean people can't use and appreciate it.
Some people like shit. It's a fact we have to deal with

-i've made a terrible mistake-
wake up, make coffee, make something to eat, go outside to grab the newspapers, WHAT THE FUCK it is -18c outside.
like suddenly blow, a shitton more cold weather and snow came over here.
Also the Hdd annoyed the fuck out of me tonight. It is quiet as fuck, as in I heard my aquarium pump over it and that was behind a door and in the farthest corner of my kitchen. But the high-pitched humm the Hdd motor makes...
Awesome.
Getting an i5 for my birthday!
Welcome to the i5 club

What your school budgets the computer lab for:

Our school's IT class actually has windows 7
Now they just have to update the other 90% of school computers
Fortunately for me all of the computer labs/classes dealing with computers have i5's with 8gb of ram and Win7 in my school. I live in a fairly well off lake town though.
[editline]4th March 2013[/editline]
Actually no there's a computer lab in a portable that has circa 2005 dell xp machines
Everyone at my school has to bring their own Laptops.
I like it, because you have complete control on the machine you're working on.
I take classes online, I have no idea what computers my school uses.
I've only been on campus twice :v:
If you're interested in the sort of budget in an average school, ours was in excess of £100k a year.
Internet, licencing for Windows and other software etc also has to come out of that though.
We can work with our own laptops if the teachers let us, but we aren't able to use the school's wireless because "the IT policy doesn't support it" (The IT admins can't be fucked dealing with your virus infested shit)
Tethering to the rescue
The read module thing seems to have pooped itself

'ages ago' seems to show me a mix of random threads and whatever is on the popular page (all of which I've never been to)
Also it's not actually telling me how many new posts there are it's just linking me to the thread
