I never said apple is perfect, but they're way closer to being than Microsoft.
A normal user don't understand or appreciate the different design/UI and code choices that has been made for a OS, but I do as I design UI's myself.
I totally understand that it doesn't matter for most of you and I respect that but for me it's very important, whenever I use windows I feel like I'm using an unfinished, bloated piece of software.
I find Windows looks rather inconsistent, which is what puts me off. For gaming it's fine, but desktop use is rather unappealing to me.

deal with it. Looks are far less important than functionality anyway, and windows looks perfectly consistent with a little modding.

I deal with it by using OS X.

Apple's advertising campaign. While it's whole bullshit in a can, it worked.
How is a mac? I have never used one. (I'm not thinking of buying one)

Great.

If you play much games: not very good, but windows can easily be installed on a mac.
If you don't play much games: great.
If you are a bit on the low side when it comes to money it might be a bit expensive, but if you can afford it it's way worth the price.

So it is a great "working" system but bad game system?

Wonderful, sure it's got a lack of games but Steam is coming to Mac soon and the recent increase in Mac users is bound to get more attention from game devs.

I'm sure some folks are just running OSx86 on regular-priced hardware.
How is a mac? I have never used one. (I'm not thinking of buying one)
well, it's something like this, you pay twice as much for something that you can't easily service yourself, looks shiny but can break easily, and if you ever want to upgrade it, it will cost you more than it would otherwise. many things you may need won't be available, and of course, there's very little gaming on the mac. remember, steam coming to OSX doesn't mean the games go with it.
oh you'll also have bought something from a evil ( at least more than others) company run by an asshole.
and, if you're anything like me, the UI will drive you insane.
it's not really worth it if you ask me. hell, if you ask me, apple can just go die and we'd all be better off.
Wonderful, sure it's got a lack of games but Steam is coming to Mac soon and the recent increase in Mac users is bound to get more attention from game devs.
Bla bla bla its coming to steam, but, what percentage of the games on steam actually WILL run on Mac? Pretty much just source

You grossly overestimate the popularity of hacky shit like OSx86 with the baying, technologically infantile, masses.

Even so, I rather make a Hackintosh, because I love the challenge. And once it's all setup, it runs like a dream. :holy:

This thing is actually pretty darn good. Not as slick as I would like it to be and a little intrusive though. I'll probably get rid of it and wait for that other, slicker one to be released.
