deal with it. Looks are far less important than functionality anyway, and windows looks perfectly consistent with a little modding.
That's why stuff like the N900 is such a massive sales hit and iPhone is dead in the water right?

P.S. Window's consistency is horrific. Even Microsoft themselves ignore their own UI guidelines

Just got done reinstalling Windows XP on my brother's 7 year old Dell.

How is a mac? I have never used one. (I'm not thinking of buying one)

A few differences here and there but essentially for the end user the exact same as windows. The only thing they've got really nicer is the tray in my opinion.
Of course this is coming from a person who has a talent of making the OS show the purply spinning ball of doom so who knows.
Though macs are far harder to theme from what I remember. Usually some theming happens, but it's usually pretty minor.

How do you get these themes (the windows bar I mean)? I've never been bothered to look until now.
Even so, I rather make a Hackintosh, because I love the challenge. And once it's all setup, it runs like a dream. :holy:
I've got a hackintosh. Got bored of having OS X within a month. It's a great operating system, and it runs compatibly as well as your average, run of the mill Macbook. I still use it once in a while, because I use the OS X partition as a school operating system, to separate my shit. No issues anywhere. But I came back to Windows in the long run for the software support.

It'd look better if you set Quick Launch to use large icons.
I'm sure some folks are just running OSx86 on regular-priced hardware.
Represent yo! OS X seems to run better than Windows 7 for me, exact same hardware.

For shits and giggles:
Windows 7

MacOS X

The Windows 7 desktop background is an image I found in a thread here. The thread started off really stupid, and then became about trains. That image came up, and I knew I had to have it. So I took it.
