Anyways, all these brownouts are getting RIDICULOUSLY annoying. Sometimes it's just a quick flicker, sometimes the power goes out just long enough for my computer to end up half shut off. Running but not running. Making it so I have to hold down the power button to turn it the rest of the way off. Ohio's power grids aren't the best if they can't even handle the load of air conditioners and stuff when it's only FUCKING 69F OUTSIDE [sp]lol69[/sp].
UPS master race.
Did you even google? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xm0AJ65TGOI
I did google it. But I really don't wanna attempt to repair it myself, seeing as I don't even have a soldering iron on hand.
Steam is now, for some reason, playing the alert sound twice with a slight delay each time I get a message and it's really fucking obnoxious. [editline]31st July 2011[/editline] Oh, it fixed itself just as I wrote this. go figure.
Turn off the alert sound, just use the popups.

Oh god all those HORRIBLE MEMORIES of that sound..
I don't know why but I like the old sound better then the new one.... Guess I'm just crazy.
I don't know why but I like the old sound better then the new one.... Guess I'm just crazy.
If you could somehow get your hands on the sound and set it to read only, you could replace it.

Posting from Ubuntu LiveCD, going to install it too I guess.
If you could somehow get your hands on the sound and set it to read only, you could replace it.
I think the sound is somewhere in the HL2 GCFs... Not sure though, it's in here somewhere because you can access the sound from Garry's Mod's sound browser.

[editline]31st July 2011[/editline] Defraggler what are you doing
http://localhostr.com/file/uC3oScM/message.wav Put it in the friends folder.
And DO NOT FORGOT to change it to read only. It will delete itself otherwise.
Posting from Ubuntu LiveCD, going to install it too I guess.
Why.
Why.
Because bored. Well, why the fuck not, I had an Ubuntu CD here and decided to try it. I wrote it for my friend who then didn't want it. And I had it here, so why the fuck not. Like I had anything else to do right now.

Well today I learned that turning on UPnP fucks up my internet access.

Is there any way to easily set up a network boot? My Windows 98 disc seems to be broken, but I have an image of it on my computer that is fine. The frankencomp's NIC card support PXE, now I just need a quick way to set up a server on Windows...*crosses fingers for gman to answer*?
*crosses fingers for gman to answer*?
Sorry, I've never done anything with network booting.
*crosses fingers for someone with the knowledge to answer*
74% of rootkits detected by Avast were on Windows XP machines. I'm not surprised considering the OS is a decade old.
Windows 2000 what are you doing on my VM you don't even have wireless driv.... Oh, you do. I'm thinking of upgrading it to some sort of Windows beta to screw about, only thing is it'd have to be a newer version than Windows 2000. Windows Whistler?
ME [editline]31st July 2011[/editline] Windows ME, that is
ME
I don't have any .isos of a beta for ME (the only way downloading an .iso of Windows is legal I believe?), so I'll post what I have that is a later build than the 2000 I'm running.. Whistler Professional (XP RC1) Longhorn Professional Vista Beta 1 Or, I could boot from CD and install an old Cairo beta of NT4.0 OR, I have the .vhd from a proper install of Win98SE (from the disc) that I could set up with VPC.
