D5/7. Trying to get a picture of myself with TotalHalibut over at the ASUS Starcraft 2 tournament.
Who?
Who?
Some people know him as Totalbiscuit. http://www.youtube.com/user/TotalHalibut
Some people know him as Totalbiscuit. http://www.youtube.com/user/TotalHalibut
Oh, right. Also, I have a story I never actually got around to telling. It's an opposite of a computer-illiterate story that surprised me. I went to a Catholic school for my entire life, and I recently graduated from high-school from one. At around Junior year, the computer labs were all changed around with new software. The elderly sister who ran the lab explained to us that we should be using Firefox because "It's just better." I had to resist the urge to stand up and applaud her. Of course, for some reason the Firefox installations were on 3.something and Wikipedia barely worked on it so we actually had to use IE anyway but they get an A for effort.
FireFox is God's browser Unless he's using his netbook, then it's Chrome :downs:
IE5 master race Too godly for god
FireFox is God's browser Unless he's using his netbook, then it's Chrome :downs:
Considering what a shitbrain he is, at least according to what he's done in the last couple decades, he's probably using Safari on Windows 2000.
... I can't say anything further without turning this into a religion discussion :v:
Isn't it obvious who God actually is?
Isn't it obvious who God actually is?
God is actually George Carlin. Anyways, I just realized that I only care about always-online DRM when shitty companies use it, but not when good companies (Blizzard, Valve) use it. Starcraft 2 requires you to be online for you to play and I've never whined about that.
Some kid was saying he was a "leet haxor" because he downloaded a bruteforcer program. Then he's like "derp how do i run this". I told him to compile it first (durr), and said if he couldn't figure out how he didn't deserve to use it. My school is full of tryhard script kiddies.
Valve needs to fucking fix Steam's offline mode :argh:
Valve needs to fucking fix Steam's offline mode :argh:
It works for me and always had, huh
Valve needs to fucking fix Steam's offline mode :argh:
You fix it by going to offline mode before shutting down steam. Every time.
Still, it should work to begin with.
Also disclaimer: I've never tried going to offline mode, then restarting the computer. I'm assuming it would work but not sure at all.
I just know that normally Steam needs a connection to go to offline mode. How ironic.
It probably needs an authorization token of sorts.
I just know that normally Steam needs a connection to go to offline mode. How ironic.
If I have steam set to auto login, it'll give me the option to use Offline Mode if there's no connection.
You never noticed that offline mode button on the side of the login screen?
This is the part where I say that Starcraft 2 has been out of over a year, which means everyone has gone through singleplayer, which means everyone's playing multiplayer or customs.
Still you only have to be online to use Battle.net or get achievements while playing Singleplayer.
Yes, but after you click that button, it'll say that it failed connecting to the steam servers. At least that's what it did the last time I tried it :v:
Still you only have to be online to use Battle.net or get achievements while playing Singleplayer.
Still better than not being able to play at all.
Still better than not being able to play at all.
I agree. Since while multiplayer is fun, Singleplayer adds very much to the story about the Starcraft universe. And the ending is very good.
Dual PC+Monitors are awesome Chat w people on one, play on other.
Anyone ever get goosebumps from watching/hearing something incredible? I just did. http://starfox643d.nintendo.com/ I. Want. A 3Ds. And. THAT. GAME. I grew up playing SF64 and they made it look incredible! It seems they kept all the original sounds, but I guess they couldn't restore the original voices to a better quality so they just redid them with new people... Doesn't sound half bad but I wish they kept the originals. The poor quality made it seem like you were hearing them through the communicator in the Arwing. Brb playing SF64 on Virtual Console for now
Dual PC+Monitors are awesome Chat w people on one, play on other.
Yeah, I have a chromebook lieing around somewhere. Anyone know if I can install steam on it? :D
Alright, I added a fan to the frankencomp's CPU so it doesn't melt itself. It's still crashing in half life but I believe that is the RAM's fault. [editline]1st August 2011[/editline] Oh, added Sound Blaster 16 too
