It wasn't even my computer :hehe:
Woo just got an AGP 4x Geforce 4mx for £4.
It seems I went to the market for a reason today.
There was an abit motherboard sitting there for £10 too, grimace at it and move along, as you do :v:

Would have been £20 if it was working, since it's so rare to find one in a working condition :v:.
Jesus, what do you do to your stuff man, mine's over 3 years now and despite a dead battery and broken power button all's well.
EDIT: Also, what did you pay for yours?
Paid $1100 or so (it was $1200, but was on sale for $1000, but shipping was a bitch).
The trackpad button is just designed a bit poorly - the main button is only attached to the thing holding it on by a very thin piece of plastic. The random boot failures I suspect are caused by something jamming the fans (a small piece of the fan grate is broken, and I sometimes hear a rattling noise when moving it), but I haven't found it yet. Finally, the hard drive failure was just WD being WD.

What? I've had more seagates fail on me than WD's.
The count is at 8 SG's and 0 WD's.
[editline]7th August 2011[/editline]
To be fair I've had less WD's and have had them for shorter time.

Dear every ISP in the country, come lay down some kind of fiber around here and remove bandwidth caps and let us have cheap internet!
Dear Sweden, Belgium, Germany and all you bandwidth superior countries. SHARE!

Lucky bastard. I have to use 3G that because of my geographical location I'm limited to about 3-4Mbit/s.
My college dorm figured it would be a good idea to limit everyone's internet to 300 kb/s when it has the capacity of 4MB/s because its "fair" for everyone in the building.
that would screw with my wallpaper system I have going now, I'll just potatochop it in.

They do have dual 6 core Xenons in the more expensive machines. He's correct.
Technically it's double-hexacore, though, since the cores are spread across two distinct processors.

1Gb/s Synchronous DSL would be a nice thing to have indeed :3:
What a shame no ISP provides higher than 10/1 in this area and the prices for even that are pretty ludicrous :frown:

Still it's mostly new built houses and apartments that have fiber in this country. Rather expensive to get it, my house is too old to survive a conversion. And still it would maybe cost my family maybe over 100 000€ to first dig and lay a line from the nearest hub with fiber to our street and then connect it to our house. And the closest place I think that have fiber is about 500-600m from where I live, else it's around 1km. But I don't think that even if everyone in my neighbourhood went together to get, our houses might not survive, since they are maybe over 60 years old. Which means old and maybe murky wood. But I'm happy with that I can atleast have an internet connection at all. And I think everyone here also is happy what they get so no need to interfere. Althought, if our house would have had district heating, then it would have been a cost of about 2000€ to install fiber. But since the house is so old, we're running on oil.

I doubt it would be that much. The last time I checked a local ISP here in Finland offered to pull fibres for around 4000€ if you just live close enough to their pre-existing glassfibre bunches.

It's like the fucking countryside where I live, and then it's only about 2km to the city centrum.

How do you pronounce ASUS? It's been bugging me for ages.
A-Sus?
Ace-us?
