You now ask why the hell I posted that. Well, I just came home from the Netherlands, and I get greeted wit a black screen, but spinning fans. I assumed my DVI cable was loose or something, so I checked that, tried with a VGA cable and so on, but you know, fukken nothing. I then just let my computer boot for a couple of minutes, and sure enough, my cursor showed up. I then log in (we're on ~10 minutes now), and everything is slow as fuck. I start up some programs, and well, they run as they usually do, so I guessed that that was because it was loaded into the RAM. I then checked my HDD with HDtune (the picture you see is from the third run), and I get 2MB/s with spikes to ~140. As you can see in the picture it's much better there, but the access times are still way of normal. Anyone tried this before? It's more normal now, but it still dips.
Try a disk check
Asus even uploaded a video to show people how to pronounce it :v:
fuck, I need to reboot to Windows to truly know. [editline]6th August 2011[/editline] (no sound on Linux Firefox for some reason)
fuck, I need to reboot to Windows to truly know. [editline]6th August 2011[/editline] (no sound on Linux Firefox for some reason)
It's Ay-suse.
Where you in the netherlands on holls? What did you do? Did you like it?
Alphen ann den Rijn (an hour or something away from Amsterdam where we played some concerts), and it was pretty nice. Amsterdam's a nice, weird place.
I have two 250GB drives that Windows reads as 232GB, so when I was installing Windows again I didn't really know which one was which. My second HDD is where I store stuff, and the other is my main drive. And without really thinking about it, I deleted the partition for the storage drive. I noticed afterwards, and carried on with the install thinking "oh shit I hope that all of my royalty free music hasn't been deleted" luckily, using a nifty little program called GetDataBack got me my data back
They do have dual 6 core Xenons in the more expensive machines. He's correct.
It's "Xeon", not "Xenon". The only "Xenon" processor I know of is the triple-core PowerPC one in the XBox360.
Good news. The IT guy that is supposed to help me build my computer has not returned any emails for several weeks, so today my dad told me that he is sending one last e-mail to his IT guy with the parts I'm going to use, and if he doesn't reply he is going to let me buy the parts.
Cross-posting from Tech Support: When attempting to rotate, move, or otherwise manipulate a bone in 3DS Max, the usual indicators (like the move arrows or the rotate sphere-thing) plain don't show up, and the tools will only manipulate in one direction. This randomly started happening only yesterday, does anyone know why?
RE: Mandrith so that means you will soon have a computer you can actually install things on?
RE: Mandrith so that means you will soon have a computer you can actually install things on?
Yes. EDIT: Also, my dad believed me when I told him that "Portal 2 needed some character models from Half-Life 2, so they had to include it on the disk."
Yes. EDIT: Also, my dad believed me when I told him that "Portal 2 needed some character models from Half-Life 2, so they had to include it on the disk."
I believe every single Source game mounts HL2 content.
Twin Frozr III is better
They share blows. The DirectCUII is considered to be quieter with lower temps but they are close. At the same time the Twin Frozr III is dual slot. I have two of them.

I know this isn't that amazing of a problem, but it's more of a minor annoyance. My GTX 460 supports a max resolution of 2560 x 1600 and my monitor's max resolution is 1600 x 1200. Unfortunately any application only allows for resolutions of up to 1024 x 2048. When I switch to integrated graphics in a VM for example, it allows 1600 x 1200. I might be missing some important logic here but this makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. Perhaps it has something to do with aspect ratios? It's not like I even need an immediate solution, but I figured I might sport a nice bout of content if anything I'm saying sounds computer illiterate.
