no it's not, there's no "installer" for anything in OS X, you get a dmg or an archive and you drag it to your application folder
When I installed Office, Xcode and a few other applications on my Mac, I had a standard installer.
Hey guys, should I get a new HDD or PSU
Thing to note:
HDD:
Have a crappy green drive from my Dad's friend.
Might use another harddrive (green drive as my secondary)
PSU:
Running a 5-year-old PSU from my Dad's friend that surprisingly can run my 6950
Could be causing BSOD (don't know if fixed)
The cables are crap.
Get a new PSU as you need a good bit of power to use the 6950. Get a Seasonic X650 watt power supply, or a Corsair 650 Watt power supply. You do not want to skimp on power supplies as that could cause BSOD's like crazy and cause your system to malfunction after a short time as it would be supplying inadequate power. And I say to go with the Seasonic as that is top tier quality.
Oh god BSOD, fuck you.

Holy shit. The SSDs alone would cost five times more than what my new computer costs.
Haven't had a BSOD in ages. First steps of how to get rid of it? I'm in safe mode right now.
Haven't had a BSOD in ages. First steps of how to get rid of it? Sorry for the quality, my phone was dead so I used my old iPod. Had to snap it quick too.

If it's a hardware issue, why would safemode be running fine?

The Seasonic X650 doesn't fit my budget. However, I did find a similar Corsair 650 Watt PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139020

it may have just been a fluke though
the hardest thing about english, like every other language, is all of the slang like the fact that "the little death" in french is a euphemism for orgasm
but other than that all of the weird grammar exceptions in english are the hardest part
[editline]9th August 2011[/editline]
er not grammar, spelling

Yeah, learning English is more about learning the "exceptions" than the "rules".
It also has the problem of being non-authoritative. French, you can go to the L'Academie and ask someone "is this proper French", and they can authoritatively tell you either way. Many other languages have similar institutions - there's the Chinese "State Language and Letters Committee", the Dutch Language Union, the Akademio de Esperanto, etc. It gets confusing for Latin (there's three different regulators - one for the Catholic Church, one for botanists, and one for zoologists), but that's not really a big deal.
The only major languages I know of with no real authority are English and Japanese. You can't go to Oxford and find someone who can say "Yes, that is correct", or "no, that is wrong". You can find someone who will say "according to general usage, that's probably right", but even then, you can find another who will contradict him.
There's an amusing story about this. Shortly after the release of The Hobbit, someone pointed out to J.R.R. Tolkien that the correct plural of "elf" was "elfs", not "elves", citing the Oxford English Dictionary as proof. His response, essentially (I'm paraphrasing heavily) was "Bitch, I wrote the Oxford English Dictionary, I can pluralize however the fuck I want".
And bam. The language was changed.

I forgot about the whole speedtest thing :v:
I just got a new desk yesterday, stuck my keyboard on it, dug out an old PC since my current one is fried. I lost my CRTs though. No idea where they are.

Do you guys know of a better image viewer than the one that comes stock with windows XP?

I've used gqview, but it's kind of ugly.

does the image start fullscreen and does the scrollwheel scroll down the image instead of zooming out?

Irfanview.
Hell, I use it on Vista and 7, too.

1: No
2: Yes. Wheel browses through the folder, Ctrl + Wheel zooms, and if it can't fit it will automatically change scroll to mean up and down.
Anyone on FP have a Dell U3011?
On the topic of scrolling
Every Autodesk program I've ever used is Scroll down to zoom out and up to zoom in
With inventor it's the other way around
It's 2011, you'd think we'd have a standard for scrolling by now

This so fucking much, the first few weeks of my CAD class was hell with the scrolling.
Still is if I go any extended period without using inventor.

I usually adjust to different scrolling conventions within the first day.
I usually adjust to different scrolling conventions within the first day.
Well I had classes twice a week so I would get used to it halfway through the class, then next class several days later the first 15-30 mins it'd be the same shit all over.
After the first 2-3 weeks I did get used to it but it's still completely asinine.
Funny thing that happened today in my Cad class
Today we moved back to Inventor from Revit (Thank Christ, I hate designing houses)
As an introductory exam thing, we had to make something in 2 lessons.
A fucking wheel :v:

What's the best way to have my mac share it's wireless connection?
I'm having a paid connection myself now, which i connect to over wifi but to have internet on my phone or my sisters/mothers phone, we would have to buy another card for acces. Can i share the connection on my mac? So far i've only found tutorials which share a incoming connection over wired lan to wifi
