Is using standard fuel system parts (fuel line, fuel pump) a bad idea for a watercooling setup? My cruddy old dell home server has a very bad tendency to overheat and I have a bunch of car parts lying around from various projects but I don't need an explosion of coolant all over my home server.
Make sure they're sterile and wont' contaminate anything. Also ensure that they're still in reliable condition, aka no leaks and whatnot.
Oh god, imagine an old man yelling 'GET OFF MY LAN'
Question, is the fan in a PSU important to its operation?
I've told you about the horrible grinding sounds it usually makes, but it's started making solid clicking noises on boot :ohdear:

i'd imagine a PSU gets kind of hot
That's what I'm worried about, the air coming from the PSU vent is always a lot hotter than the case's
To replace the fan, would I need to disassemble the PSU or would it be just a "remove grille, swap fan, replace grille" job?

"Pretty Fly for a Wi-Fi"
Now I have to listen to that song. :v:

Wouldn't a dictionary attack be able to brute force the second password quickly? Or do those attacks generally not include combinations of words?
a dictionary attack would have even more trouble cracking it

anyway for those who care about Extra Credits: read the OP of this thread (on a different website than facepunch BTW)
a dictionary attack would have even more trouble cracking it
I take that back, a dictionary attack with a database of more than ~1500 words would have more trouble cracking it
of course the chances of a 1500 word attack having all the right words are pretty slim

so in general it would be harder to crack no matter what
so in general it would be harder to crack no matter what
yeah pretty much
really anything with more bytes is harder to crack. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabaaaaaaaaaaaaaa would take ages to crack but it's a pretty simple string

but of course it's fairly simple to guess, so for an ideal password you have to find that balance between hard to crack and hard to guess which would include some capitalization at the beginning of each word i guess since no one i know uses capitals in their passwords
To be honest, I've always wondered about using a sentence as a password, with full punctuation. If it's a sentence that someone wouldn't expect from you e.g. "Vodka, you're feeling stronger!" then surely it would actually be a pretty secure password.
Yeah but you'd be frustrated as hell to try and type that exact phrase multiple times due to typos and whatnot.

problem being that most password fields only allow 20 chars max and no spaces or special chars
problem being that most password fields only allow 20 chars max and no spaces or special chars
which is stupid
My friend's school password has gone from real passwords, to jokes, to full on racist nonsensical shit :v:
I'm fairly sure his current password is "KKK911" and the last one was just "Obama"
which is stupid
i think it's because they haven't bothered to put proper sql injection safeguards in regarding the special characters and the spaces i have no idea
Yeah, I have to say that limiting characters and spaces in passwords is fucking irritating.
I have a password that is similar to that on my KeyPass database (along with a keyfile on a separate USB) - as I rarely have to access it.
From experience, I normally have to type it 2-3 times due to typos, but it takes, what, 10 secs tops if I'm careful, and no-one I know will guess it.

funny story i just remembered, me, my dad, and a few of my friends were going to go fuck about in all points bulletin when my dad was having problems logging in. we eventually narrowed it down the the password field in the game only accepting 12 characters (which was also the supposed password limit but the website let him go past that) when he signed up with a 13 char password due to the aformentioned field bullshittery.

Either this is flat-out wrong or I've just been very, very lucky.
Either this is flat-out wrong or I've just been very, very lucky.
the two most common limits are twelve and twenty

Well, what wasn't messed up in ABP? I swear that the bean bag rifle (Stabba CCG) was faster to kill than the AK (N-Tec), let alone stun. Was an absolute trainwreck. Glorious and great fun, but still a trainwreck.
