So today I was talking to my Grand Father about when he used to use FORTRAN on old huge IBM computers when he used to work for a military contractor in the 70's. I thought it was funny when I asked him what it was like when Windows came out and how different it is now, he said "I still think of Windows as a shitty file manager for DOS."
Are there any 6950's that unlock on sale still? Retail I mean, though there should pop up plenty on the used market around the release of the 7 series.

[editline]18th August 2011[/editline] Also, i think EA is missing a lot of sales now that MW3 can be preordered on steam already and BF3 can't.
so I finally got my hands on a school issued iPad, every single one of them came with a nice Otterbox and a shitload of school type apps (mostly Khan Academy stuff) and some other apps like Puffin and a keyboard. We actually went into a classroom for "training" to use an iPad. I looked at the school computers and every single one of them uses Win7 and Google Chrome as the default browser, made me think maybe there aren't that many retarded IT guys
That's better than what we have. We have school issued netbooks, that have the most fucking bloatware ever. They even go as far as installing Windows Live Messenger even though you can't use it because of internet filters.
Once garry enables thread post limits again, we should just skip straight to V0x11, seeing the amount of posts the thread currently has. :v:

I'm tired of it being the Scoot and Flak chat edition. :saddowns: But what would we name the new thread?

I proposed 'CIPWTTKT&GC V0x10: sudo cat /dev/null > content', but I'm not sure which won in the end.

Heh. The "Example newsletter" on stackoverflow.com has an "Unsubscribe" link like you'd expect from a newsletter. In the example however, the link leads to "Epic sax guy 10 hours" on YouTube. :v:

They had perfectly good dual screened dell optiplexes before, I was looking forward to using them :smith:
Just installed the Symbian Anna update on my N8 which I still haven't managed to sell. It's still shit.
Well, first day of school. I have to take Comp Ed 1 to take any fucking classes I want. Should be and easy A. I expect tons of content though.

[editline]18th August 2011[/editline] I imagine it will be two years of dicking around in MS office yet again...

In Dreamweaver. It was pretty much a lodsacontent class, people making websites with rainbow backgrounds that require a quicktime plugin that takes 10 seconds to load on each page to pump out shitty music. it only took me about 5 lessons, took everybody else all year

Oh god 3 hours of having to listen to basics of Linux tomorrow fuuuuuuckkkkkkk
Oh god 3 hours of having to listen to basics of Linux tomorrow fuuuuuuckkkkkkk
I would probably enjoy that Oh wait i will. Having a class in that this autumn. Will be fun
I just want to know if it's any better at college level.
I doubt it, my sister is doing it and she's just doing more of the same boring old Powerpoints and general Microsoft Office stuff.
I would probably enjoy that Oh wait i will. Having a class in that this autumn. Will be fun
"Now go to /root and touch t3 to create a file blah blah blah" The good thing is you don't actually have to do those tasks, they're just examples. And the teacher is a complete chill bro that understands it's useless to talk to me about using nano to write something to a file so I just browse the web and do fun stuff.
I doubt it, my sister is doing it and she's just doing more of the same boring old Powerpoints and general Microsoft Office stuff.
Bollocks, I might have to do electronics instead.
My advanced IT class is basically Excel and Powerpoint 101. I am so grateful that I have got my ECDL exam done when I was 10 and I can just skip the class.
Oh god fuck I read the schedule wrong 5 hours of basics of Linux Fuck this, I'm taking my headset to school and playing Minecraft.
"Now go to /root and touch t3 to create a file blah blah blah" The good thing is you don't actually have to do those tasks, they're just examples. Still i want to and here is a chance to do it in school.
I just want to know if it's any better at college level.
Not sure if it's the same thing but I did computing at A level and that was fun, the teachers actually knew what they were on about and discussed the workings of the internet etc, only part they were lacking on was knowledge on up to date hardware, but considering it's more software based thats forgivable.
I'll probably need those boring examples, I don't know shit about Linux. Still i want to and here is a chance to do it in school.
When you get root access, do rm -rf /* It speeds up the system a lot. j/k don't, that deletes all the files
Oh god fuck I read the schedule wrong 5 hours of basics of Linux Fuck this, I'm taking my headset to school and playing Minecraft.
Learn vim and possibly vi. Alternatively, if you already know and/or use vim, learn emacs so you can whine about how horrible it is [editline]18th August 2011[/editline] Also I just got a minecraft server setup done. It's a private server though – at least for now.
