I shut my home bukket server down, my friends have stopped playing.
Learn vim and possibly vi.
Alternatively, if you already know and/or use vim, learn emacs so you can whine about how horrible it is

Also I just got a minecraft server setup done.
It's a private server though – at least for now.
it's disgustingly easy to use vim, you shouldn't take more than like 5 minutes to learn how to use it to just edit text files

This book was actually printed and sold as a child's book.

I mostly meant studying the more arcane stuff. I doubt all vim users know how to properly use all three select modes, for instance.
(Did you know that selecting a filename by v<motion> and then typing gf will open that file?)
I tried vi once
I installed nano after that
I personally use nano because I don't see reason to use any of the others, other than preference. I mean, why do you people use vi and vim?
Genuine question, not just "I mean why do people use that shit".
i'm just more used to vim file, a, -type-, esc :x than nano file, type, ctrl+x
I love the dual-mode concept. Not having to chord is wonderful.
In addition, vim commands are really powerful. And simple to use.
Anyone planning on getting a 590 should just get this: http://techinstyle.tv/technology/mars-ii-extreme-rog-graphics-card-bringer-of-games/

Preparing for the future in advance, I see.

All I need to do is bump up the clock speed of my 590 to the 580's clocks and it would be about the as 2 SLI'd 580s.
Yeah fuck that http://www.overclock.net/hardware-news/1081360-muro-asus-rog-mars-ii-graphics.html

DICE said that no current gen PC would run BF3 on max.
2 of these in SLI, challenge accepted.

It's not estimated, it's $1,599.

Cool, I could buy a duplicate of this computer with that sum.
Cool, I could buy a duplicate of this computer with that sum.
I could buy about 3 of my PC's with that.

I included all peripherals in that, though.
Can't remember how much the case and its innards cost by themselves.

Proved boyfriend wrong about getting PS3 Controller to work on my computer, feel like a Queen
He was telling me to use some shitty driver set that didn't even work right
Then I used the power of Google (!!!!!!!) to set me in the right direction and it works perfectly
every time I play a game with the controller now he glares at me sometimes :v:
Only problem though is ZSNES and the PC Version of Sonic Adventure DX won't recognize the controller
Strangely enough ZSNES only recognizes SixAxis, nothing else
edit:
And SixAxis likes to bug out while setting keys in games/emulators making it bind to whatever motion it bugged onto (if that makes any sense) and when I forget it did that and didn't take the button I pressed I play the game and suddenly I'm doing things I didn't want to aaaaaa

You can edit a post within like 10 seconds and it doesn't tag it as edited.

I've totally forgot to post, our school (well, all the schools in area but only we IT nerds use it) has a kickass VMware ESX + Lab Manager cluster.
And my favourite IT teacher gave me template creator access.
Trying to figure out how to give everyone a virtual network (easy part) but you still have to be able to access WAN from that (hard part).
"...And their kids might even make fun of you!
But that’s okay. You know why?
Because they’re just jealous!
Deep down, they wish
their daddies would buy them
a stay-at-home server, too.
They watch the lights on your server go
blinkety-blink. Blinkety-blink.
But you have a Daddy and Mommy who love you!
And, a Windows Home Server! Does that make you happy?"
So, according to this book, if you don't have a home server, your parents don't love you. That's pretty harsh. :v:

I once heard a kid's song that said that if you didn't celebrate Christmas with presents, something was wrong and your parents didn't love you.
I accidentally macro up in this status update.

Time to drag us back to the editors discussion:
Nano is good. Vim is also good. Or hell, give Pico a whirl. They all work great for quick edits and stuff.
However, the original vi (or even nvi) is a major hassle to work with. You pretty much have to type ":set verbose showmode" every time you start it, or you'll mess stuff up.
Then, of course, there's that one time I used ed - I managed to break my terminal configuration, so no visual editor would run. I had to fix it with fucking ed. Imagine using vi while blindfolded. That's how painful that editor is. You're almost better off using echo > file.
I do, however, actually like Emacs for bigger projects. Syntax highlighting is good, and some of the more powerful commands are useful too. It is kind of a memory hog, but come fucking on, most of us have 4+ gigs. No text editor is going to use that much. I've run 6 instances of Emacs simultaneously on a machine with 384MB, it was fine.
I prefer Vim, personally.
Did you know that if you use GVim for a while the menus will teach you a bunch of the :commands?
iOS5 isn't even released yet, maybe thats why
But Apple isn't going to get rid of every single store's iPhones. They'll wait until the store needs a restock.
