The only reason I don't like it is because I've never played it... The only "Experience" I've had with the game is from me trading some JVC Marshmallow headphones for an ulgy gold Nintendo DS Lite with a triforce on the cover.

Emulator, Ocarina of Time, hop hop.
I bought an N64 + OoT for 80€ when I was like 13 or something just so I could play OoT (and a little bit of Mario Party with my big brother, fuck my palm though nnngh)

I do have a Wii, so I might be able to track the game down somehow. Funny thing, I got that DS specifically for Scribblenauts.
Well, lets watch Flak get mad at me:
I've never played Zelda, Kirby, Mario, Sonic, or any classic games.
I just recently bought a NES, a N64, and never bought anything but Pokemon for my gameboy.
I've never played Dues Ex or Half Life 1.
And have no interest in doing so.
This. I did play Deus Ex and Half Life 1 for a bit, but I didn't really like either. Felt like a step backwards, which it kinda was for me. I don't have the "nostalgia" either, so there's nothing interesting in it for me.
I'm not saying they're bad games and HL2 is better, I'm just saying I don't like it.

Same, I guess I'm just spoiled because I didn't start gaming as early as some other people.
One of my first action games was Fallout 1&2. Then I remember when my Dad bought Fallout: Tactics on the night of release.

It's weird - I'm in the same situation (started late) but I actually like all those games.
Maybe it's because I played Chex Quest (which is basically a kid friendly Doom mod) back in the day.
How exactly did this thread become anime & video games chat?
I played the original Deus Ex on my father's Mac when I was four or five. Never finished it, though. I also played but never finished Half-Life on the PS2, mostly because aiming in general on a joystick is extremely awkward for me (I'm used to playing FPSs on PC.)
I also still have fond memories of playing Quake II and Diablo (Both of which I finished when I was still in preschool) all night long.
I just got on Google+ to check out some posts, when did it get an invite limit?
I went to Best Buy today to pre order Deus Ex HR. Why is it that the PC version of everything seems to cost at least $10 less than the console version.
Also, I saw a few PC components in the PC clearance section. They were charging $250 for a GTX 460 there.

console versions have to cost more because of something, can't remember what
Do any of you guys have parents that like videogames? I told my dad about Tropico 3 and he was interested and might wanna play, so that made me kind of happy.
this was an incredibly useful post

My Dad brought me into gaming, pretty much the first PC game I ever played was Return to Castle Wolfenstein and the first Call of Duty and Medal of Honor games.
now, we play a bit of LAN CoD4 from time to time along with rFactor and Live for Speed, gonna try and get him to play Civ 5 so we can do a multiplayer game one day
Funny thing - I pretty much just got around to playing the original Deus Ex. Yeah, I grew up as a console gamer, and not much of one at that.
The game's not nearly as flawless as everyone makes it out to be, but it's still better than a lot of games I've seen.
console versions have to cost more because of something, can't remember what
Probably because Sony and Microsoft want extra dosh, console gamers NEED physical copies to play, and a bunch of other asinine reasons.

My mum has beaten Portal once. She got some interest but not really the time. Dad has trouble believing that i, although going to an IT school, can re-install windows so i don't really want to try him

Also, I never really started playing games seriously until probably 2002 or something. My first console was the original Xbox and my fist console game Halo. Played Half Life for the first time when i got the orange box the Christmas it launched. Kind of a late bloomer here
i once got my grandfather to play bad company 2 with me, but he just kept telling me to stand still because he couldn't hit me

I'm buying my entire family Terraria sometime, it reminds my dad of stuff from when he was a kid and my mom just thinks it looks neat.

It's they have to pay Microsoft and Sony in order for it to be on the console, disk and box costs money, and extra money for publishers.

My Dad plays left 4 dead with his childhood friend, however they ALWAYS play intoxicated so I can hear Dad yelling in to the mic when he gets attacked by a zombie or something.

My Dad likes fighting games and Fuck-Shit-Up games, but other than that he's not that much of a gamer. My Mom likes point-n-clicky stuff.

My father has liked a few games, mostly hack and slash RPGs, like Diablo and Champions of Norrath (we used to play co-op on it all night long), social games and a few early FPSes like Wolfenstein 3D and Doom. He doesn't really play many modern games, though, because he is usually busy with work and he gets awful motion sickness when he plays most 3D games.
He is more a fan of tabletop RPGs. When he was a teenager he loved D&D, and was the DM for his D&D group. He even won a few D&D tournaments.

I tried playing Deus Ex once. Couldn't get past the tutorial.
Because I suck.
My father brought me into RTS-s, mostly Cossacks: Bakc to War.
And then I showed him Age of Empires 3, did a few LAN matches with him, we in the same team and 4 enemies.
To Wolfenstein 3D i got from my uncles son, he pmuch lived here when he was little.
And Blood 2.
And Carma 2.
And GTA: VC
My dad finished the original Prince of Persia for DOS (the one where you had to redo the whole game when you died), but doesn't have the time these days to play any games.

My dad used to, but now he doesn't have the time D:
My mom plays facebook games.
And my dad plays GT5.
He also plays my Xbox when I get new games and when I'm asleep.
my dad buys alienwares and plays diablo
I'm sure someone here has got a spare HDD they can give you. I could send you one if you wanted to; they come in 2.5" 180GB, 3.5" 80GB, 140GB and (I think a) 200GB flavours (I'm gonna check first, though). Shipping would probably be cheaper if someone in Britain could send you one, I will check shipping, though.
Just checked, it will cost almost the same as a new HDD, so it's probably not the solution anyway.
I looked at replacing the SATA faceplate thing, I can't even get the bastard off my HDD as it is mounted onto the logic board somehow, rather than just sitting over the top like it should. God dammit Hitachi. Thanks for the offer though, I'll probably be investing a new HDD at some point anyway, this one seems fairly slow, not sure what happened to it.
The ghetto rig fell apart this morning, but the replacement is working pretty well so far, over 7 hours of constant usage and it hasn't failed yet.
