OH MY GOD YES FIGUIRED IT OUT TOOK LIKE 20 MINUTES TO REMEMBER
Oh man, these two new 24" 1920x1080 monitors I got during the OCUK sale look fucking amazing. Sadly, my 4870 is kind of struggling to power through games at 1080p now, but fuck me they're an upgrade from 1680x1050.
On both monitors? Because when I switched to 1920×1080 from 1400×1050 I didn't really notice any change
Though coincidentally I did overclock it on the same day when I needed to record a video with fraps. About 10% and all is running swell.
It is louder though and at times it's a bit annoying
[editline]cake[/editline]
Clocks are 800 and 1050 (I think stock are 750 and 950)
No idea :v:
You have no idea what resolution the OP is running, or was it to something else?
Here is a good visual example of what happens when your Vram is completely loaded up.
http://hardocp.com/article/2011/06/28/msi_n580gtx_lightning_xe_3gb_sli_video_card_review/5
Scroll down to the bottom. Now I should say that even if the average framerate is as high as the other cards, when the vram is filled it will stutter occasionally based on my reading. So if you do a benchmark on a normal 580 SLI versus 3gb 580 SLI, the normal 580s may only lose 2-3fps average, but may stutter significantly more.
Oh and to all of you with Paypal accounts, you might want to get all your money out and make sure they don't have access to your bank/credit/debit cards, they closed my account and stole $200 from me.
I was -250 Euro and they just closed my account and didn't do anything.

I've heard way too many stories of PayPal beeing greedy fucks and going all "woops your money isn't yours anymore lol" to actually use PayPal

Then I suggest OP gets CF 6970, much cheaper, 2GB VRAM each, and he'll actually be able to buy that 30" monitor afterwards.
Seagate 1Tb is on sale for 50$ with promo code Get it, or still go with the spinpoint.

I had to call my bank to get a new account and get my money transferred because of this. It took me 3 hours. I only posted this recently because I've been working it out with my bank. But, I lost $200 still.
I have no idea what he's running.
That's normally a good idea to check before you get someone to blow 2000$ on something he might now need.

Samsungs HDD division was bought by Seagate if i recall correctly.
Imho 580 nom nom noms a 6970. Even a 570 does.
Not really, and we're discussing whether extra VRAM is worth it or not. Besides, AMD cards generally do better on higher resolutions.

2000? Where'd you get that number? It's like $1100.
Not really, and we're discussing whether extra VRAM is worth it or not.
Well to be fair, it's whether a 3gb 580 is worth it over a 1.5gb model. Not simply vram in general.

What?
2000? Where'd you get that number? It's like $1100.
The whole rig, and 1100$ is still some money.
OH MY GOD YES FIGUIRED IT OUT TOOK LIKE 20 MINUTES TO REMEMBER
People use Yahoo?
Then I suggest OP gets CF 6970, much cheaper, 2GB VRAM each, and he'll actually be able to buy that 30" monitor afterwards.
A 580 is faster, no doubt about it, yes it's quite a bit more, but he did say he wanted performance mainly. Besides 580 has PhysX, Cuda, 3D vision, and nicer surround support from my experience.
The whole rig, and 1100$ is still some money.
Anyways, that guy already bought a 580 and is getting another next week. End of discussion.

The one that buys this needs to be kicked in the groin. Total waste.
I wonder if iFaux has bought 10 yet.
The whole rig, and 1100$ is still some money.
But, he's building the system anyways. It's whether or not he's going to spend 700 on 6970's, 950-100 on 1.5gb 580's or 1100 on 3gb 580's. The entire price of the system isn't coming into play here.

I have my debit card linked to my Paypal, I don't keep any money on my Paypal, at all.
It just charges straight to my debit card.
It's like an obfuscation layer.

Don't forget better OpenGL support, and they are quieter too.

We're talking 500$ more.

Same. I link paypal to my card, but don't keep anything in my paypal. I've heard waaaay too many stores about paypal and steam, so I do it directly with my checking account with steam.

But you don't even know whether he has got a monitor to match up with those cards goddammit. That's an obvious question, that should be asked. You can't come up with example of "he's gonna use the extra performance when he's running 3 30" he of course have already", when you're not even fucking sure about it. When you're helping people, you have to realise you're not just writing some shit on an internet forum, you're actually making people spend (sometimes) hard-eared money, and you shouldn't be careless with that money.
That's how they got my money, safe my ass.
How the fuck?
I've never had any money stored on my Paypal account, did you do that?
