The cheapest SLR you can get might be 400 perhaps with a lens. The T2i is absolutely fantastic for the price. It gives you so much more to work with for that extra money.
I would have recommended the same thing.

It's even more fun when you know German and how to say it properly, although a lot of the words aren't actually German.

When I said "cheap", I didn't mean "if I take the gold reserve of Hungary and buy one I'll have enough money left to buy 2(!) ice creams!".
So Gadhaffi is most likely already dead, but the state radio is still broadcasting his propaganda. Lolwat?

That's probably the cheapest I'd go before simply not considering photography as a hobby.

Wonders of video editing and propaganda combined

Aw, shite.
Aw, shite.
SLR's have always been very expensive compared to most cameras. 450 dollars is what people would consider dirt cheap for SLR's. The D3000 will take fantastic photos, same with the T2i, but it's more about the features and the ergonomics when going for different SLR's.
If 450 is too much, consider going for a used camera, or settling for a small sensor compact camera.
Such as this: http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-DMC-FZ40-Digital-Stabilized-3-0-Inch/dp/B003WJR694/ref=sr_1_6?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1313969355&sr=1-6
$450 is like baby's first camera in the SLR world. my lenses alone costs almost twice that

I have that, it's a nice camera

uh, congrats?
And the camera they recommended you was still considered entry level by most, the entire Rebel line is meant to be for amateur photographers.
The panasonic camera I posted would be a good choice. Feels like a small DSLR, shoots video, good zoom, and obviously cheaper.

I have the next one up, the D3100. I think it would be better option considering it does HD video and has 14.2 MP compared to the D3000's 10.2 MP.
10.2 MP at 16:10 is 4040x2528 pixels
how many more pixels do you need
10.2 MP at 16:10 is 4040x2528 pixels

all of the pixels
I NEED ALL OF THEM

This has been going on for 3 days straight now and the fucking thing still hasn't finished. I'm expecting it to come out at about 1.8TB.
Note to self: disable system imaging before next backup date, especially considering the network is 10/100, not 10/100/1000.
So often have I seen something worthy of being photographed but my cheapo 3.2 MP point-and-shoot is simply inadequate so I think of buying a DSLR
then I see the price
OH GOD WHAT THE FUCK I COULD BUY A CAR WITH THAT KIND OF MONEY
and that's what I'm doing right now actually, 400$ for a very old Nissan :v:
OH GOD WHAT THE FUCK I COULD BUY A CAR WITH THAT KIND OF MONEY
Stop having orgasms at RED's and Lecia's and look sensibly at Canon midrange.
What do you guys think of this?
[t]http://filesmelt.com/dl/mcdiskpreview.png[/t]
Are Lenovo, Fujitsu, Samsung, Toshiba, and the new Acer laptops any good?

I was about to say, you must be looking at really shitty cars.
Alright guys, I need a cool name for our network's private network, and the public guest network. And don't wuss out like last time.
I'm thinking 'Peasant Internet' for the Guest network.
