That, really.
You don't know how depressed he is, don't do shit like this.
Anyway, enough of this facebook bullshit. Let's talk about my "Database Management" teacher, he's a huge Linux fanboy and keeps on saying the only good product Microsoft made is SQL Server :v:
Got my second programming course today too
OH GOD THE PSEUDOCODE
That shit shouldn't exist in French
I'm going to "get my ass in gear" and learn a programming language.

Depends.
If you want to just jump right in, do C, C++ or Java. Java's probably the easiest and best-documented, although C/C++ are (in my opinion) better languages.
If you want something easy that still has use, Python is good. Or Perl. They have some syntactical oddities (Python's meaningful whitespace and Perl's $%#& identifiers), but the core idea of programming is the same.
If you're only interested in web-related stuff, Javascript might be good. It's not a perfect starting language, since it doesn't stand alone, but it's definitely useful. Same for PHP or ASP.
I recommend against system-specific languages. VB and C# are (effectively) Windows-only, since Mono is hardly standard. Same for Objective-C and Macs - sure, you technically *can* use them it on other platforms, but you'll get some really funny looks and have a lot of problems.
I also recommend against "dead" languages. LISP, as beautiful as it is, isn't used anymore (although Clojure might bring it back). FORTRAN and COBOL are dead except in scientific computing and legacy business apps, respectively.
I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE IT KNOWN, EVERY POST BY ELLIS WAS BY ME.

gyazo has some dumb bandwidth limit that when reached it shows a sad face like that
gyazo has some dumb bandwidth limit that when reached it shows a sad face like that
it used to not do that but i guess they reduced the bandwith per pic or something
to be honest puush is a much better alternative (no gay bandwith limits)
gyazo has some dumb bandwidth limit that when reached it shows a sad face like that
That's a shame, since gyazo was pretty much great at everything. I used it for pretty much every screenshot I ever needed.
welcome to glory of CTRL+SHIFT+4

I love puush so much. Thanks for recommending it to me!
ZScreen and self-hosting all the way baby.
Zscreen master race
Also imgur
zscreen derpbox
puush=zscreen (they both have their pros and cons) > gyazo
Whats the appeal of saving to a dropbox vs imgur or another uploader? The program keeps a folder of the last 50 images (and maybe more, I cant remember) on your hard drive, so you won't lose the image.
lol you guys missed me didnt you especially wingless
i have 1200 images in my dropbox (screenshots that is)
puush=zscreen (they both have their pros and cons) > gyazo
Gyazo was so simple (Just click the shortcut and drag for a picture), but puush is so much better with all these options.

I already use Dropbox for so many more things, though. It's simpler to have it all in one place. Also, you can edit files even after you have posted them. I like that.
I never used Imgur. Isn't that the one owned by Reddit or something?
Also, no, Swype, I said "Dropbox", not "Cervix".

All the images I've been linked to by Gyazo users took forever to load, and they had adverts and pay pal buttons all over them
I'm glad people are beginning to abandon it.
imgur isn't owned by reddit but became popular through it
imgur isn't owned by reddit but became popular through it
I didn't quite mean "owned" in that sense. I meant it more like "dominated".

You guys might get a kick out of this.
The other day I saw the legal license plate "PWNED". I scrambled for my phone camera but by the time I got it out the light had changed and he had rolled away.
I spent hours across 2 days troubleshooting a new build for a friend after Windows wouldn't install. The problem? The SATA 3.0 ports/controller. I had them plug the drives into the SATA 3.0 ports initially, and the install would always hang then fail at random points. After hours and trying literally everything else, I took them out and plugged them into the first available SATA 2.0 ports and the install completed perfectly. I'd not had to deal with the new SATA yet, and didn't know this issue could possibly arise, as apparently I've heard it uses a different controller. A friend of mine who knew the build that I was voice chatting with asked which ports I had them in and suggested the switch. It felt like something so obvious after leaving memtest86+ on for hours to check the RAM and trying to troubleshoot everything else, but having never used them before I suppose I couldn't really have known.
I have been learning Java in my Computer Studies class for over a month now.
...We still haven't done anything but conversion programs. :smith:
