SOCKS proxy could be a good idea if you have a remote shell.
or just stop worrying about it and log in normally
Personally I just use two factor with my google account, I don't even need to worry about my email, I just need to remember to log off at the end, So what the random keylogger gets my gmail password, As long as I am not mugged for my iPhone on the way out i'm fine.

I literally cracked up laughing reading that.
It's like our school computers still running XP. Why not switch to 7, or even vista? What affinity do technology-incapable people have with XP?
I know I'm late, but oh mah gawd guize ad mah faithbuk

I blame Vista. Vista was such a drastic failure that everyone stuck to XP, and they don't want to use Win7 because they're afraid that it'll be the same shit all over again.
Either that or people are stupid and think Windows Toybox actually looks good.

Vista was so bad I think quite a few of the users switched to Linux.
My dad's school just bought him a 13-inch Macbook Air. Even though I normally dislike Apple products, it actually seems pretty nice. If it wasn't priced so insanely high I might have thought about getting one myself.
Wasn't there some new Windows laptop that looked somewhat like the Macbook Air and had better specs for a lower price?

What about the Samsung Series 9? Although I do think it's a bit more pricy if memory serves.
Vista was so bad I think quite a few of the users switched to Linux.
I did, but my OS being Vista had nothing to do with that. Just the fact the laptop could barely run LXDE + Openbox without choking on itself.

Are you using their computers?
I have this growing feeling that my Phenom II 955 is going to get blitzed by this 570 Classified that I've got on order from Scan. How terrible is the bottlenecking going to be? (I've got a [del]toaster[/del] 4870 right now)
Are you using their computers?
Yes, some Pentium 4 with XP.
Something like Chrome OS would be perfect for net cafes

Honestly, I doubt there would be any bottlenecking going with that setup.
The only thing I can think to upgrade at that point is switching to an SSD.
Or get an Intel mobo and i5 2500k but why bother, that 955 is going to last a long time.

a 955 really shouldn't be bottlenecking anything but quad 580 lightning's (obvious exaggeration, but you'll be fine)

Bosh.
(except it's running at 1.5GB/s because this motherboard doesn't have SATA3 which is fucking stupid)
Edit: Turns out it's not actually a 955, I forgot it's a 555 coreunlocked @ 3.3GHz w/ x16.5 multiplier (so that's basically a 955 at the end of the day right)

555 or 555 BE?
I have an unlocked 555 BE, shit's so cash.
I'm wondering why everyone hates vista. I mean, I'm pretty good with computers, but still learning the basics of internal computer workings. From a consumer standpoint, Vista does everything I really need it to and I haven't had any major problems with it. What is it that causes everyone to hate it?
It's not bad if it's updated, but back when it was new there were a lot of driver problems and it was also very slow because most computers weren't really powerful enough for it.

From what I can tell, people hate how UAC works in Vista. I actually don't mind it - it's no different than typing a command in on Linux, it failing because you don't have permission, then sticking "sudo" at the front to make it work.
That, and bandwagon hate. I'm pretty sure a lot of people "hate" Vista just because the heard "everybody" hates Vista.

No, actually it sometimes outright refused to give you the privileges to do something, requiring you to turn off UAC before doing it. All that was fixed in Windows 7 as far as I can tell, though.
What the hell EVGA. No wonder my 590 was running at 70c+ under heavy load, the dam fan was only running at 50%. Its down to under 60c with heavy load now that the fan is maxed but why the hell would you set the default to something that risks melting the card.

or does it have to be the exact same manufacturer and sepcs?

I have been running Vista for 3+ years, and I have NEVER had that problem.
I never had an issue with Vista. Ever.

Me neither, but Vista had issues with me.

No.
It's not a matter of manufacturer or specs, the SE is a different GPU, with fewer cores.
