Well, i'm not saying ALL of Dell's or HP's computers suck
My Hp laptop's motherboard broke after 18 months. I call that bad
The motherboard in my 6730s is actually 3 years old
No sign of failing yet.
Generalization is bad.
My HP laptop has lasted way beyond the three year warranty it had. Even though it's practically overheating every single time you turn it on for more than half an hour.
I could see the IT guy flinch when i said i thought it was the mobo
The bill to fix that is not small
*disclaimer*
Not saying that all laptops of X brand is bad, But i'm not the only one with this model in my school that has had this problem.
But I mean that heating problem has always been there and I think it's due to swapping

*Cough* leaked serial *Cough*
[editline]6th September 2011[/editline]
I think Valve will just blacklist the serials and remove them. I don't think they will start banning steam accounts.

I think they won't do anything.
I'm not sure if i should accept that serial i got on steamgifts now, i don't want to get my account banned with 100 games on it :|
[editline]6th September 2011[/editline]
I did sent a mail to steam support, they said they're investigating it.
I think they won't do anything.
As someone who paid full price for it when it came out, I hope they at least do something (even if it is just telling everyone that they're a very naughty boy and they shouldn't do it again)

Gabe said in an interview last year that they don't do much about piracy, they want to focus more on the platform etc. Although they did go on a banning spree when HL2 came out, and people tried to register pirated HL2 copies on steam accounts.

The leak isn't valve's concern, at the end of the day it's AMD / Codemaster's issue to resolve and their lost revenue. Pretty sure codies have the power to revoke keys with permission from vavle.

No, but steam support has said they are waiting on the publisher to tell them what to do, so most likely valve has to revoke the keys for codies.
Besides, it's not Steam's fault
Hey, atleast it's faster than a torrent to download, and I suppose I could always crack it later if the codes are revoked.
[editline]6th September 2011[/editline]
I doubt they will be revoked, though, how will they diferentiate legitimate owners?
i will seriously shit myself if they just revoke all AMD promo codes.
I got it with my 6970 and I don't want to lose it because some jerks decided to be jerks.

They either
- Do nothing
- Revoke all codes and make legit owners reregister.
uhh, What about non-legit ones who have a key and they can reregister too?
lol.
uhh, What about non-legit ones who have a key and they can reregister too?

You have a code from AMD which converts to Steam serial. That's what i ment with reregister.

Exactly, the GPU coupon codes were released too.

Uh, what if I have a Steam key from IntKeys pre-leak and it was one that came with an AMD, but I don't have an AMDCode?

Search that for your key, and copy the card code that's next to it. That's your AMDcode.

Thanks. :v:
It would be funny if someone had taken your code :v:
I need to change all my passwords now. My friend was at my house while I was at band for four hours, I come back to see him on my PC playing... Dirt 3, that's right a game I don't own. Turns out he used my Facepunch, Google+, Steam, and Youtube accounts by my sticky note I have hidden in my room with all my passwords. What would be the best way to contact Steam to get the game removed? I don't know what key he used so I can't really go under a CD-Key issue.

Then simply pick one from the list and take that?

Why do you have a sticky note with passwords? Lastpass FTW.

I don't have access to a lot of my emails anymore, a lot of my accounts were made on those emails and I can't use a password recovery thing.
(which it won't)
Holy shit my friend is ghetto. He took an old power supply, stuck the wires with a few leds, and wrapped bare wires around those lights. Now he leaves it hanging in his room and it attracts and kills insects.
