I once had to write out a program to calculate the stresses on a simple beam on Visual Basic exam on a piece of paper. Goodbye syntax highlighting.
Oh and for annyone knowing Finite Element Method, we also had to do that on paper. (it alreaddy takes ages on excel) It was a 2 hour test and I wrote around 8 a4 papers full.
We complained after both test, so next years students can do them on a PC like its supposed to.

Why?

more info please, I'm hoping it's some illegitimate claim for something to do with your youtube videos or something.
I hit a guy a couple months ago at a red light. He pulled into my lane and hit his brakes when the light went yellow. But I hit him right at the end of my stopping, so maybe at like 7-8mph.
So with the amount of discs listed it sounds like his entire back exploded. But it was fine when he stood in the parking lot for an hour before the police came. Also reading the letter was depressing.
Negligent driver... Negligent driver... Negligent driver... Negligent driver... Negligent driver... is all I kept reading.

If I understood correctly, he's calling you a negligent driver because he pulled right in front of you at the lights?
Sounds like he's the negligent one to me, you don't just go switching lanes right at the bloody lights.
Well, good luck with the case. Hopefully you can counter sue for the cost of all the fees and such.

At this point it's hard to remember exactly how things went but I just remember being shocked as I had a clear lane and all of a sudden there is a car infront of me trying to stop.
edit: I want to clarify, I'm not saying I don't remember. I'm saying that I try not to think about it. Even though it wasn't a bad crash, the entire experience dropped my mental health like a rock. I was depressed for weeks for feeling like I let my entire family/friends/co-workers down. I had never been in an accident up to that point, perfect record, perfect police record, perfect school record and it sank from there.
The fact that this is all coming back around again really makes me feel sick about it. I was so happy that it was over since the court dropped the citation I got from it and the guy seemed to be taken care of already.

Typical case of the teleporting retard, also known as the jackass who remembers he needs to turn right 5 milliseconds before the lights.

That reminds me of some woman that very slowly backed into my mom's car at a gas station. As soon as she felt the collision, she jumped out and bitched about it somehow being my mom's fault for half an hour and made up this bullshit story about her car being slammed into at high speeds. The officer apologized to my mom because he was legally obligated to report it.
Yeah that could be thrown out of court very easily if you have the proof to back you up. Or you could just make him admit his shitty mistake.

You have insurance, right? If you have even basic insurance, you'll be covered for liability in the (possibly low, if you're telling us the whole story) chance that he wins the suit.
If you do win, remember to try to get him to cover your legal costs as well.

OH yes we do. They covered his medical costs I believe before but I guess he's claiming for more now and wants the entirety of our policy.

It would probably be a good idea to chat with your insurance company about this, then. Since they're the ones who would lose money, they'll be very interested in finding a way to win the case. They might even provide a lawyer for you (probably not, but they might).

My dad is going to be talking with them tomorrow about all this. I did take pictures of the crash, but never thought to take pictures of him. If I had my current cellphone I'd have taken tons of video of him standing around.
I couldn't be assed to shell out for some bullshit gaming headphones that break so I finally got around to adding 1/4" phono plugs to the random headset I had been wanting to convert for a while now. It also wasn't stereo so I had to rewire it too.

They plug into the front panel of my Audigy 2 ZS.
That looks rather badass, sir

the only headset you should ever buy should look something like that ^
But how does it sound?

Better lighting.
My dads latest theory is that the government tracks every single thing everyone does on any computer ever.
And I guess you don't even need to be connected to the internet.

same thing is happening to my family, mom accidentally took her foot off the brake at a red light and slowly rolled into the car in front of us, less than 1mph. they are trying to sue us for our entire policy of $300,000. they say they are "seriously injured", which is total bullshit because she just lightly tapped the car in front (there isnt even any visible damage)
When my mother ends up installing random adware and other annoying things like toolbars and the like, when I get mad, she doesn't act like it's her fault that she got that shit on her netbook to begin with. Same thing with the rest of my family and anyone who I have to maintain their computers. And then if something goes wrong even weeks after I fixed their computers they choose to blame me! I'm not the one who clicks on every ad and popup after I somehow disabled adBlock by changing the system to the wrong time somehow? How is it they do this shit without realizing it?

Welcome to the life of a systems admin.
I seperated the computer my parents use from my network and my dad takes care of it himself.
It's not used much, my dad and mom play some small Mohjang games and my dad does online banking on it, that's 'bout it. Oh and my mom checks her email on it.
So there's not a whole lot of attack surface.

EDIT: OH YES CONTENT FROM MY SECOND DAY AT SCHOOL:
What our current setups issues are:
-ditched our fiber line FOR SOME FUCKING REASON.
-some illiterate cunt cut out all the wiring on the top floor
-Windows XP
-Windows in general
-Not running Linux on any of the servers like I was told
-Jimmy and that bald fuck that got me suspended still work there
-SOMEONE STOLE MY MOTHERFUCKING ROLLING CHAIR IN FORTAIS ROOM
-I don't work there
-Firefox 4.0
-Internet Explorer is still an option
-schooltools hates firefox
-no adblock/noscript on firefox...
-ADOBE CS4 SHIT
-Office 2010 and 2003 are both still installed on the server and show up in the novell tree.
+20,000 other items...
vlan?
Nah, physically seperated, or so I'd call it.
Their computer's on port 1 of modem and my router which handles my network connects to port 2.
Changed modem's config, done.
I also have DMZ setup to my router so I can handle port forwarding on that.
Wait what's the problem with this?
Some school stuff simply doesn't work with Opera/Chrome/FF/Sparkbrowser, I have to use IE then. There's still Chrome installed on every computer though :buddy:

I can't wait to see people crying about how hard switches are :v:
