My school has 10Mbit switches and the server's running on a P4 + 100GB of space. Just imagine the long waiting times when 100 students log in at the same time :v: By the way, our network storage is capped at 10MB.
That's useless, the average publisher document won't fit.
On the subject of networkd, ours seem to have hit a wall. We are currently having a school with 350+ students on a 0.2 Mb line. Out of curiosity i pinged google yesturday and saw that there was 75 % loss 3 out of 4 tries Shit's bad
speedtest.net showed me 120mbit/s at school compared to 70 at the old one
That's useless, the average publisher document won't fit.
Fun fact: due to the incompetence of the IT staff, the teachers' accounts are capped at 10MB too. I have already spoken with them, they said "10MB should be enough to store at least 100 documents AND presentations, school computers are not for gaming." The management buys their shit, so I don't the situation's going to change for a while.
"10MB should be enough to store at least 100 documents AND presentations, school computers are not for gaming."
100 single slide presentations with no images or text still wouldn't fit. :v: [editline]9th September 2011[/editline] At a guess.
PowerVR card...
You can go set that on fire now. Those are the most useless accelerator cards in existance. Even a non-SLI Voodoo2 would whip the pants off it.
You can go set that on fire now. Those are the most useless accelerator cards in existance. Even a non-SLI Voodoo2 would whip the pants off it.
Wait, you could have Voodoo 2 in SLI?
Wait, you could have Voodoo 2 in SLI?
Yep. It was the only way to render at a whopping 1024x768 resolution. The Voodo5 was also the first dual-gpu card - basically the 6990 of the era, except with worse performance and higher cost than comparable single-gpu cards (so, basically exactly the same).
Yay my mobo RMA get rejected O-o What do I do now? [editline]9th September 2011[/editline] Mobo doesn't get to POST, it doesn't cycle restart like it would if it didn't get enough power. SATA ports don't work. Neither do fan connectors. PSU works fine, it all boots up PERFECTLY with another S1155 board. WTF

Where is the motherboard? :v: It's like, covered in graphics cards
They need to start making graphics cards that are opposite to each other. With the top of the cards facing each other and the fans facing away from each other.
$3000 dollars worth of video card and 1300 watts of power. [editline]9th September 2011[/editline] Also, I can't get this damn 15% off coupon from dell to work on the U3011 monitor. It works on other monitors but not on the U3011. I checked all the terms and service, but nothing. 15% off would bring it down from $1,299 to $1,100-ish. There is a $200 off instant rebate going on right now which brings it down from $1,500. But when the instant rebate wasn't going on it still didn't work. I'm trying to talk to a representative.

Atleast the block he's on.
I think the lights dim across an entire state when he boots that up.
To quote GPF, "Blast! I knew I should have started by building my own nuclear reactor!"
Atleast you could use the reactor coolant on the graphics chip too.
Atleast you could use the reactor coolant on the graphics chip too.
Bad idea. You do that, whenever coolant leaks, you'll have a major meltdown. Plus, the reactor might overheat, too.
Especialy with the power requirements of that card, I doubt it's thermaly efficient at all.
Did you guys see the windows 8 booting in 10 secs vid?
-snip- Wrong thread :V
Did you guys see the windows 8 booting in 10 secs vid?
nope
That feeling when you just sang the entire fucking Bohemian Rhapsody and forgot to mute your mic in Mumble.
Did you guys see the windows 8 booting in 10 secs vid?
Yes, and Microsoft can take all my money. My laptops getting the beta the minute it comes out.
3:40 PM : I just finished downloading 3DS Max, right after it's finished installing, LOLDERP power goes out for the whole fucking county because of a fucking maintenance worker in fucking Arizona.
That feeling when you just sang the entire fucking Bohemian Rhapsody and forgot to mute your mic in Mumble.
Nah, I've had people have worse. Someone who was scared of spiders had his mum come into his room and find it while he was near crying. Recorded it aswell.
