I don't even know what to say to that.
So for Linux class (Currently doing Ubuntu) we got an assignment that gave us tomorrow off if we did it at home. Basiclly we were given a list of commands that we were supposed to get the meaning of. One classmate said it was hard since he had to google search each one. I was like:
whatis
whatis
whatis
whatis
whatis
:v:

I just wish there was something called whyis so you could whatis whois whyis
Also I think I pissed someone off bad, I've been getting password recovery notifications from a lot of places and I just got a text message from MSN Live with a password to change my password.
Too bad I can't remember pissing anyone off.
Meh, my passwords are too long to bruteforce and I don't install malware on my machines.
how did I just find a picture of that cat in my public dropbox folder?
I was just going to clean it out (delete everything but stuff that I had posted in the last ~week) and it was there, staring at me
Oh you have got to be shitting me, the password reset text message I got, it's just because I added my Windows 8 VM to my Live account, talk about shitty wording on the text message, it talked about confirming my contact change, I had to see the email to figure the shit out.
Oh this is fun
That homework from 2 posts ago, One question is what sudo echo rm -rf/ does
:v:
Next question is what happens if you remove the Echo part
:v::v:
And he encourages people to try them out in practice

Are you managing the blocks at whereever you are? :v:
Well, my web dev class is really fun, but apparently it will take half a year untill we get onto Javascript, right now it's learning all the basic HTML tags (which I already know) So I might just ask if I can do all the hand-in work now.

as if he'd be allowed in charge of anything at all

if you had control you'd fuck with everyone
don't deny it
BREAK IT UP YOU TWO!!
Bought some Logitech z523 speakers for 55€, in a store called Saturn. The store is literally the best and biggest electronics store I have ever seen. It even had 5 floors, with nothing but electronics. They had everything, things I have only read about on the internet were there, and a lot of other cool stuff.
The speakers are pretty nice, I already tested them out on the hotel I'm staying at to make sure they weren't defect or something...And of course, being in high-school means everyone wants to borrow them and stuff. Doesn't bother me, I'm fine with it...Except for when my room-mates blasted porn on them "for fun" :v:
When the monitor comes I plan on doing an unboxing video thingy just like for my video cards. You all interested?

If you do it naked, yes
I "upgraded" my VMware Win98 machine.
It booted up with:

I'll need to shave.
What if we like hairy balls? :q:

And beards.
I imagine a magnificent beard, proudly displayed for all to see.
Maybe braided, in some kind of Viking fashion.

Mmmm, dithering.
Becoming an audiophile is a fucking curse. Sitting here at my sisters place with my school laptop (lenovo L412) listening to music with my sennheiser HD558's and this laptop absolutely murders the soundstage. It's like I'm back on my Creative Fatal1ty headset, everything's so muddy and unclear.
Gonna get myself a portable external sound card/DAC that I can bring wherever, sadly any decent one of those is gonna cost as much/more as the headphones themselves.
Quick question about Linux commands
What the hell does
:(){:|:&};:
do ?
IIRC, it freezes your computer with some sort of infinite loop, but I'm not really an expert on bash scripting.
I wish voice synthesizing was at a high enough level so I could have my computer talk to me in the same voice as the spaceship computer in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy talks.
It just sounds so delighted at the prospect of being about to get raped by 2 nukes.

It's a forkbomb.
Basically, it defines a 'function' colon, which executes itself and pipes it to itself again; then calls the function.
It'll keep spawning processes until it kills your PC, basically.
Then we will not be testing that one to see what it does then.
Thanks

Same works in Windows, create a batch file with "%0 | %0" and execute it. :v:

Once I forkbombed my school's server, that taught my IT teacher not to leave his laptop unattended while logged in or to keep a session open in PuTTY 24/7.
