We're making web pages in my "Multimedia and Software Applications" class.
Using Weebly.com

just trim a little
Well, my web dev class is really fun, but apparently it will take half a year untill we get onto Javascript, right now it's learning all the basic HTML tags (which I already know) So I might just ask if I can do all the hand-in work now.
Had only two HTML lectures one of which was half HTML half css, I'm now getting php, and gotta do this project which is basically create a website with a working login, databases, contact form and a system where companies can create their own internship advertisements, manage them, and students have to be able to reply to them. What.
oh god I showed my friends Minecraft, two of the more computer literate ones bought it and already have decent enough computers to play it. hell, even setting up Hamachi with them was quite easy
now two others want in, one of them has an old dell latitude laptop that refuses to run Minecraft, so he's decided that he's getting a new computer and the other texted me before and said "not to brag but I'm getting a really good computer soon so I can play Minecraft with you"
:suicide:
Just heard a radio ad for Apple claiming it was "Sleek, and powerful" and "[it's] a college must have"
To be fair, Minecraft can be a bitch on your system
I bring anti-content:
I was at the web club meeting today (yes, I'm apparently in two computer clubs now). This one girl in it's been having computer problems for a while, so one of the guys set her up with Linux as dual-boot. Ubuntu, but the pre-Unity version.
After that, she was talking about how old the laptop was (she was bummed that her laptop couldn't run the cool Compiz effects), and she asked for recommendations for brands. She mentioned that she thought Apple sounded good.
Well, pretty much everyone simultaneously said that it would be overpriced. Seriously - like five people said "No!" in unison. After a brief explanation (one guy compared Apple to Hyundai), and a brief discussion on part quality and pricing, she seemed to accept our advice.
One person (the guy who had installed Linux for her) suggested Alienware. I pointed out that it would be very overpriced - I literally pulled up a model from their site that had worse specs (save hard drive space and GPU, and then not by much) than my current, three-year-old Asus for about the same cost. Moore's Law doesn't work that way. (Seriously - $1000 for a dual-core 1.6gHz i5, a 540M and 4GB of RAM?)
The guy actually immediately backpedaled. I guess he never thought to think about price - a lot of the students seem to buy laptops using student loans, and don't care about price. I seriously think he's reconsidering his position re: Alienware.
So that's one person dissuaded from Apple and another converted from Alienwarism.
I then pulled up an Asus I had been eying from Newegg. She wanted to know about the hardware, so I literally went through every specification it listed and explained what it meant, how it compared to others, and what effect it would have. Processor gigahertz, L3 cache, memory clock, VRAM, hard drive speed, everything. She seemed to catch on quickly - apparently I did a better job explaining than her teacher in the basic computing class, since several people complimented me on being so informative and understandable.
Hmmm... maybe I should try to get a part-time job teaching there. I could use the money - I have a feeling my laptop's on its way to the big /dev/null in the sky. Not too bad, though - a three year run is pretty good for a heavily-used laptop.
LOL

probably even as big as my bedroom
That's as big as my Amiga 500+.
Today in my computer programming class the teacher told us what program we are going to be using:
Visual Basic for MS-DOS Version 2.0, dated November 1992.
Then again this is coming from the same school who used Windows 2000 until 2007.
obligatory "that's as big as my dick" comment

signed up for "computer games design" for my weekly enrichment period this term, shit's gonna suck
Gotta go to IT Fundamentals in an hour. Not looking forward to it, it's as filled with hyperspergs as you'd expect a college-level computer course to be.
That and we're probably going to watch a video with yet another hypersperg ranting about how amazing or terrible Windows XP's GUI is.
Posting from my bitchin powermac G4
400MHZ of PPC RAWH POWAH!!!1
I'll be posting from my amiga as soon as I get my network card. 14Mhz of Motorola 68k power.
Jesus have mercy.
This is a completely different experience...
The video is 100% 1080p

What's the PPI on it, BRT?

but PPC and amigas are more badass.

Current issue I'm having is I have a stuck blue pixel and the images seem to hold on the screen like webpages.
[editline]14th September 2011[/editline]
Image holding issue seems to have cleared up. But the pixel is still there.
You guys want screenshots of stuff?
Why does simply booting up eve cause my router to reset everytime?
Can anyone tell me the name of the engineer who decided it'd be a good idea to make it so when I start up my phone while pressing the volume up/down button with the power button and releasing the volume right before the power button would make the phone not detect the SIM card?
Because I freaked out when I pulled the phone out of my pocket after starting it up in there :v:
Am I the only person whose Computer Programming teacher isn't a complete idiot? We're doing visual basic (yaayy), and our teacher is an older lady who actually knows a ton of programming languages (QBasic, C++, Java, VB, other stuff) and other general computer stuff, and she seems to manage the class nicely.
It's almost disappointing, I was looking for some content.
I may have said this before, but when someone said they were a complete super-hacker at my lunch, I asked what languages he knew and he said "English".

Wait, you mean those silly wallpapers which are just 2 images stuck together? Why would you not use DisplayFusion or that other program whose name eludes me at the moment?

My programming teacher is a genius. He's a brilliant mathematician and has been working around computers since the mid-60's.
Time Warner are being huge dicks and giving everyone in the area service problems
it's really fun having your connection drop out every five fucking minutes

That's funny, when I got my 32" 1080p Samsung monitor for $150, I didn't have a stuck pixel :v:
