He just revealed why he's supporting Alienware so much. He said he's not a PC Gamer.
Simple console gamer stupidity.

You should realize though that the OP wants a laptop, and you've been talking about desktops the whole time
word filters make my life difficult :(

i just recommended a g73, assumed the OP wanted something for games if they were considering Alienware.

You did a pretty good job insulting his manhood with the word filters in place.
Today in computer class some guy asked how i was hacking using cmd on OSX.
Hurr durr terminal
I have a friend who tried to use the shutdown command in the Windows command prompt to remote shutdown my PC, I even gave him my IP and everything. In the end his PC inexplicitly turned off.
It was at school.
Damn good job Derp, I doubt he could counter that with any sort of coherent or factual argument.

did you give him 127.0.0.1 or something, because he really must be slow.

It's not like he has been countering with coherent or factual arguments before either :v:
did you give him 127.0.0.1 or something, because he really must be slow.
He used the shutdown command. It doesn't work that way.
Surround headphones are a gimmick
When did I say I ever wanted surround headphones?
He used the shutdown command. It doesn't work that way.
In Windows you can pass an argument (I think "/h") to shut down a remote computer.
Informative.
Nevertheless, I doubt that the relevant RPC ports would be open.
Who here actually use headphones more than speakers? And why do you do that? I'm kind of interested why you'd choose headphones over speakers.
I use headphones for every scenario, except when I want to watch TV shows on my computer from my bed, then I switch.
I bought a nice pair of pretty high end headphones and for the longest time enjoyed the smooth clarity of them, now though my sense of sound has faded I think.

That's a horrible build, and Alienware has headphones, and a nice case (that will actually fit the components). Oh, and Windows 7.
[editline]20th September 2011[/editline]
Just tell him to get a cyberpowerPC and be done with it.
oh god there's so many people walking around school either in the upper years or sixth form with Beats headphones
none of them actually have the "good" ones either, just the cheap (understatement of the year) ones that sit on top of your ears

http://yogiverse.com/showthread.php?23620-Dell-vs.-HP&p=347381&viewfull=1#post347381
That's a pretty bad build. Unless you were trying to make the price higher than necessary, or trying to match the hardware or something like that.

you want a nice soundcard, but then you look at headphones with bloated muddy bass? You want CMSS which tells me you want a very large soundstage, which I can't imagine these having (or being good at anything other than listening to music).
ATH-A900 have amazing soundstage and are closed, and you could get a nice DAC for a source. Personally, I don't like CMSS or Dolby Headphone, if you want a different sound, get it from the hardware as closely as possible, no need to modify the sound.
I've used my Denon AH-D2000's with CMSS-3D on my old X-Fi platinum before and I loved it.
Also I wasn't truely considering the XB1000, but they do seem good for electronic music.
Also, by "get it from the hardware as closely as possible, no need to modify the sound" do you mean, forgot the sound processing and focus on quality?. Because even on my X-Fi on my old systems without CMSS-3D detecting position rarely felt right on any games.

I mean if you want a good positional audio, get a headphone with a huge soundstage, and don't use something like CMSS, but that's just me. It's not really about quality, great headphones don't always have a good soundstage, it's just that for gaming you usually want a wide soundstage. You obviously liked CMSS, so you should really just figure out how to get it, you probably should have bought a motherboard with a PCI-E x1 above the first PCI-E x16, or maybe you can do that now? Seems like the easiest remedy.
